    Thumbs up BanditTransit's Slash Buildup

I've noticed many people keep "logs" of sorts on these here forums for their buildups, so I guess I'll start me one. No particular goal, just buy random upgrades here and there or fix stuff that breaks.

    Upgrades so far:
    1. JConcepts Raptor SCT-R body (Tamiya PS-49 sky blue, PS-01 white)
    2. Traxxas blue aluminum front castor blocks
    3. Multiple sets of tires (not going into a bunch of detail, got a bunch of them)
    4. *insert brand name here* 3750kv motor
    5. SPC lipo
    6. RPM rear bumper
    7. RPM shock shaft guards
    8. RPM shock rod ends
    9. RPM mudflap kit (taken off due to racing)
    10. Venom (AtomicRC) servo

Pics so far (resized for maximum loading speeds):

That is one slick looking slash BanditTransit, loving the colors and the simple but clean looking paint job on it, going to look good making laps at the track!! Nice work so far

The smack talk has begun lol. Yeah, I'll probably end up getting some numbers and a YRC sticker on the roof.

Also, I rebuilt my Velineon now so that's back in the truck, thanks to a local technician at a Ford dealership lol

James just helped me get the outside bearing ring out, I didn't have the tools. I did all the rebuild work, he got that bearing out and slapped a new one in. And you're right, it has been going all season lol

Okay, not to bring back an old thread, but I got some updates.

    1. I added a heatsink to the motor (some off-brand Exceed one cut and filed to fit)
    2. Managed to burn out a servo

Other than that, nothing else. I am headed to a camping trip this coming Wednesday so I'll keep you guys posted!

I'll be sure to let you know rag6, I don't doubt it is a lot of fun!

On a side note, I got the Velineon back in there a little while ago, but I need to fix a possible brown-out in my receiver and servo. It runs perfect otherwise!

Do you know what tools were used to get the outer bearing race out of the motor? I have one stuck in the side of the case the rotor comes out that id really like to fix. I like the truck, what type of track do you run with it?

I run it on a dirt oval, and what bearing are you talking about exactly? The bearing closest to the pinon gear?

Yes, thats the bearing i was talking about. Now the tires make sense, i couldn't think of where you'd use fronts like that.

The tires are meant for blue groove (indoor clay) tracks, so the hardness really does help in a situation where you are only turning in one direction. I'm not sure what tools were used, my father works at a dealership and someone from the service department got it out. Sorry man!

Okay, reviving an old thread I started awhile ago, but I bought some new shock caps at the LHS today with 08kgraves. I haven't popped any shock caps yet, but I should just upgrade them so I never will. While I am at it, I'll probably swap out the oil since the fronts are still stock. More pics with the caps installed later, I haven't had a chance to put them on yet.
