Hey viper, where's the best place to pick up a set of the sweep gt8 wheels with tread. I picked up the slicks on the sale thanks to you. But I need some treads as well. Best place to find? Couldn't find them on the sweep site??? Love links. Thanks

I bought my threaded Sweeps off ebay from a seller named rcboyz. They cost a bit more than the deal we just got from Sweep, but they were cheaper than from Sweep direct.

Started applying decals and trim tonight. One thing that bothers me is when the window masks supplied in the same kit are slightly larger than the supplied decals, it leaves unpainted Lexan around the trim.... Seriously... !!

With the width of the decals for the window trim, you think they could have reduce the mask size just a tad. I may just end up masking the windows again and filling in the section. Part of me does not really like the look of this nearly comical looking trim and think I should just spray my own.... Or leave it and call it good, cause it's going to get trashed anyway.

Wetting the body with a mild solution of water and dish soap makes placement of the decals much easier and precise

Wetting the back of the decal

Once in place the decal is squeegeed of water

    Blotted dry

    One down

Window trim in place, you can see the gaps

I'm digging the final look, but yeah, those gaps... It'd be a PAIN to go back in and add some more color to fill the gaps, but you could. On the other hand, after a few sessions on the road, you'll likely forget all about it.

A quick fix idea? Run some thin black pinstripe tape or trimmed electrical tape strips on the inside to camouflage the gaps

Thanks Simon, just for that, here's some more. I'm not sure if I'm really finished yet, but I just wanted to show it as is. I need to make some number meatballs, and I'm not sure what to do with the headlight area. The decals that came with it look really cheese, that's why I masked them clear. Then I has these perspective ones for a 1/10 laying around, so I stuck them on for now.

    Holy? that's cool!

Did you use a paint pen for the black details in the vents?

Thanks! Yeah, its one of those liveries that is so iconic, it's recognizable even with out the Gulf decals.

So I installed the GTR shocks with the Revo 5438 Spring, shock (red) (GTR) (3.5 rate green) in the rear and 5436 Spring, shock (red) (GTR) (2.9 rate white) in the front.

Is it ever nice and stiff!! It will be interesting to see how it handles, hopefully it can absorb some bumps but it nice and tight! Not sure what is in it for shock oil, but I may take them apart yet and install the Red anodized bodies I have for them.

Thanks Dirty Don! The color and presence of the model is really hard to convey in pictures, although it's smaller than my XO-1, it just stands out so much more do to the color and shape.

Do you have any indoor tracks around so you can use it through the winter? If not it will be sitting patiently with the M all winter...

We do have an on road club track, but its more suited for 1/10. They have been trying to get me to come out 1/10 TC racing...

Oh well, I have a lot of seasonal toys it seems, so soon it will be time to break out the winter ones

You know it, Curling, Golf.. those crazy sports that came form your Isle

The Savox decal came with one of my servos, and the Silver window trim was part of the bodies decal pack, it was easy

    Here are the pictures:

Because the slicks would pretty much look the same as the treaded under the body, I took these sans body
