Finally got my Dewalt installed today. After 63 runs it was time to give my Titan 775 a rest and move to backup duty. Hopefully the Dewalt will be as reliable as the Titan has been.

I just screwed it back in. I have another problem, I am having axle pins fall out on almost every run... In other words, does the Summit have steel axles available, or choice #2: which lock tight do I get?

The aluminum Summit axles haven't been released, yet. I use red lock tight on mine, and I don't have issues.

    I use blue.
it really helps if they can sit overnight to dry/cure.make sure they are tight.the Traxxas ones come with it already applied.
So make sure they are fully tightened as it makes it seem as if it's tight.i still check them pretty regularly

    For the best hold

So what's the benefit/differences between blue and red loctite? I am sure one holds longer or takes longer to dry.

Red is much stronger. Kind of permanent and can only be opened with som heat applied.

I managed to score a pair of mudslingers too, what are the advantages of pulling the foam

I'm lazy and didn't want to wait for the foams to dry after cleaning. So I test fit one on the rim, it held air very tight. Proceeded to mount the other three and ran it. Only some light bashing in mostly low gear. It performed well. I'm really happy with the setup. I won't use them for high gear stuff. I'll Throw on a set of trenchers or something like that if I feel like going faster.

Stripped a gear in my steering servo

Probably my fault though as I pulled it apart to waterproof it with grease & liquid tape and may not have put it back together properly?

Ill have to try that, to lighten up the tires a bit. I love the tires but I've only been able to try them for about ten min with borrowed lipos.Does the crawling improve substantially with them, sorry for all the questions i'm still waiting on my lipos to be sent from HK, and I'm anxious to get it rolling.

Spent a couple hours making steel ends for the axles on my Summit today. Running brushless on 6s keeps tearing the pins out of the holes at the axle ends. I've yet to twist the plastic shafts. So I cut the ends off, drilled a 10mm hole to accept my custom ends. Adds some weight but will never break or pull the pin out. Got the idea from LEM's aluminum axles.
Total cost $0.00. Just some time.
Can't wait to try and break them. Thinking my diff's will shred the gears first, I mean again.
Anyone else find a good mod for the drive axles? I've read mip axles aren't to much better than stock.
Also made no slop brass inserts to help limit wheel wobble. Better than using shrink wrap or plumbers tape. Only movement comes from the bearings now.
