Awww its like a cute little poorly equipped (in comparison, not a really fair comparison) Summit LT.

I kinda dig it though. Neat little basher for the kids.
Not sure why there's so much hate in general for it. Cant help but think that even if Traxxas were to release that ultimate ride that EVERYONE wants people would still pick it apart and find something to complain.

Looks like a brushed Stampede 4x4 with different wheels, bumpers, and body.
should be easy to make your own.

Actually, that is what it is. I just looked up all the parts that make the truck.
Shorter arms and camber links, plastic center driveshaft, low power slipper assembly and 48p gears, those are the main chassis differences from a stampede 4x4, chassis is the same, btw.

this one has me scratching my head short course wheels??

i would've expected a 4wd monster jam edition before this. i'm also thinking if the telluride could stay under $200 it would sell big time. i remember the original slash was only $199, sold like crazy-people that weren't even into r/c would drop 2 bills to come have fun.

I think it has short course wheels cuz its the only wheels that. Traxas has in its line up that is small and scale- looking. Everything else is too monster-trucky looking. And just by seeing the design/chassis ( slash/ stampede revamp) you know the are not going to put out new tires. But you can buy some after market 2.2 size tires to complete the scale looks and improve its climbing ability.

2.2 is kinda the standard the scale 1/10 truck builders use. Most stampede / "slash monster truck" are running the 2.8 size tires. Popular are 2.8 trenchers and those badlands, both by proline.

Just a downgraded stampede 4x4 for noobs and kids

I am not too excited about this truck but it will find its fans for sure.

To my mind the price is little too high too.

But since it is based on the Stampede 4x4 / Slash 4x4 platform you'll have a ton of aftermarket upgrades.

Since i already own a Stampede 4x4 and a Summit, this model is not for me.

    Maybe a good first rc.

Can I put a Summit 2 speed tranny in it, lock the diffs, and put some crawling wheels on it? I'd change the motor of course.

Its just that my friends want a Summit, they just dont want to spend a grand. The truck, then wheels, a motor, $90 lipos, a charger, etc... trying to find them a basher/crawler for much cheaper.

you can lock the diffs but the transmission is incompatible with the chassis...nor does the chassis have a transmission its just a simple gear on a shaft setup......
