*Slayer guy needing some JATO help! Stalling before 2nd *

A buddy of mine had his Jato out with me today everything was great with my slayer held a nice tune, But his Jato would stall out right before it would hit 2nd gear every time. running it around at a low speed seemed to be fine, it was more the straight line speed racing mine and it would just die out before switching gears. Then start up with out at hint of problem. I mess with my truck and that's it, so really didn't try to much.. what could I tell him to try out and or look out for??

    Thanks, anything would be helpful

if your lost on whether your lean or rich, id say start from factory settings
    HSN: 4 Turns from closed
LSN: Screw flush with the inner grey ring
the factory is rich so lean little by little
