It will take some good road surface scoping to be able to run it at max speed. The Full Size car clubs/groups I hang with have lots of track days where we run our real cars at the local oval speedway and drag strip. I think I'll bring the XO-1 along as another car entry in to the event

I have an idea if you want to run that body get little peices of metal and then put one on top to protect the top of the body and one on the inside so then you bolt them together and there you go no road burn. I will try to find a pic i saw some one else do it and it looked good

Bodys are meant to take a beating, if you reinforce the body to much itīs going to transfer all that energy somewhere else.
If my body had been reinforced when I did a head on collision with my buddys revo, the shocktowers would have broken for sure!

Bodies are a major consumable, I'm reminded of that after decades of 1/12 & 1/10 on road racing.... I've been through so many bodies in my life

Just to clarify are we referring to the new Jconcepts Raptor body I purchased or the XO-1...?

In my example it's all bodies! But if I were you I would buy a new one for the xo and keep that clean traxxas body undamaged!

I agree! For most my kits, I keep a show body in place until I get a collection of bodies and can start to consume them, depending on what the inventory looks like.

Currently I have 2 truck bodies to paint for the Ultimate, 3 bodies to paint for the Rally, and 2 bodies to paint for the XO-1.. Thats a healthy backlog Add to that a few planes to assemble and fly... Thats just this one hobby, I need to clone or surrogate myself...

A person can always paint up bodies..., it just takes time

Wow! Thatīs a lot of work!
But seeing your previous work you at least know what your doing, it takes me a whole day to finish up 1 body without a fancy paintjob!

Wow, what an awesome thread! I'm new here, my very first post. I was trying to decide between a Slash Ultimate and an E-Revo Brushless, but I think I'm going for the Slash. I like how it looks like an authentic truck. The Revo now looks kind of odd to me with those giant tires, and small car like body and big wing on the back. Honestly, the beautiful photos in this thread have sold me on the possibilities with this truck. ViperZ, I have much respect for your talent. Please keep up the good work, and thanks for being so generous and detailed in answering everyone's questions and requests!

Thanks for your Post Pez! Welcome and if you have any questions, feel free to ask here or PM me. You won't be disappointed with Slash Ultimate, especially if you're going for a more scale look. I know that's important to me, so I know what you're saying

I picked up a few bodies today

    L to R, F to B: JConcepts 2012 Ford F250 SD, Ofna GTP, Sweep 1:8 GT, Protoform PF8, and 2 XO-1's

I'm not sure what to paint next for the Ultimate for I have 2 JConcepts Fords, and a Pro-Line Raptor on the shelfs. I think it will be one of the Jconcepts as I want to see how those bodies fit.

Holy bodies batman. I have now realized how fast you can tear through a body when you start bashing hard. I've got a proline flotek raptor body on the way, can't wait to try painting for the first time. Your epic paint jobs have set the bar high hahah.

Yeah, bodies are a major consumable to me.. Thanks man! I have painted many bodies in my life, but it still takes a lot of effort to do a good job. Take your time.. Masking is an important step. Be sure to rub down your edges and rub them down again. I use a small plastic scraper or my fingernail
