The rally is a pretty good runner for a 1/16th scale rc. I do have a hard time keeping up to 1/10th scale street cars. I am mostly a stock rally also except for a camaro body.

I pray some day traxxas will revamp a brushless 4-tec for us street runners. that way i can get rid of my other thing, lol. peace

You can always take a 1/16 Rally and put a big block and some foams.
Mine runs pretty good and seems to hook up good too.

I haven't checked the speed with a gps or radar yet...but it flat out screams.
Night and day difference over the 380 Velineon system...and yes it's on 3s.
It's running a 31t pinion and 55t spur right now.

    **EDIT**

I just took it across the street to our HS parking lot(which is way too small for top speed testing...and actually too slick).

I strapped my phone under the body with a Speedo app running.
The most I could get out of it was 56mph.
I'm sure it has more in it though...if I can get a long stretch smooth enough.
I'm actually considering upping the pinion a little to see if I can get more out of it.
I checked the temps of the motor and esc...and they were still running pretty cool(under 120).

There is a conversion kit available that extends the wheelbase of the 1/16 rally by 30mm making it a 190mm touring car, I don't have any experience with it but I have thought about it.

I can see where that extra 30mm would help...a bunch.

this looks very similar to the XO1 in that picture?? but your rally looks really nice did what modifications did you make to change the style of it?? I have an Xo1 and I love it but its so big so I was trying to find a on road car a little smaller than my Xo1 but still can give me great speeds and do drifting and that's fun to bash

it looks like an XO-1 cause I use all XO-1 diffuser all around but the wheelbase is much shorter than the XO. I have to cut and glue together the side diffuser and screw them at the bottom of the chassis once I got that mounted then I work on the back side, the rear arms hit the diffuser so I have to make an opening for the arms to free from binding, as for the front, I have to turn the splitter upside down to level straight cause rally bulkhead has a little bit of a kick up and the diffuser also have a little bit of a kick up, so turning it upside down give you a straight line.

I also shortened my XO-1 to the same wheelbase as my rally GT8, I have to modify the stock chassis.
