Drill new pin holes in Summit Shafts

Has anyone broken the plastic ends of the drive shaft and drilled new holes in the ends of the shafts (90 degrees around) so you can re-use the shafts??

I am away and have broken 2 shafts at the plastic pin holes and would love to know what size drill bit is need to drill new holes for the pins?? The pins look like maybe 1-2mm??

No, I just bought new ones, but you could try it maybe a good band-aid fix.

Thanks - I will buy new ones as soon as I get home, and I know it works well, just need to know the size of the drill bit that will fit the pin snuggly as I am away at the moment.
    Cheers

If I remember correctly its a 3mm or a number 31 will work.

Make sure the tiny grub screw in the cv joint is tight(it holds the pin in place)
I bought extras and added a second one on every joint.if that pin is allowed to start walking back and forth eventually
It goes far enough to put all the pressure on the other side and snaps the plastic out.Thats my theory anyways

Thanks mate - I pretty much did what you did and have been re-using my drilled shafts until I get back home & can pick up some new shafts.
