The 2400 runs good on 3s as far as i've known. Thats what most people say that they run in it.

    Just my 2 cents

    I'd go with the 4600kv.

Some people like the 5700kv even with 3s for speed runs but the 4600 is more versatile IMO. In the end they'll both achieve about the same with different gearing. But the 4600kv is pretty quick on 2s and it should handle 3s just fine for your speed runs.

Might need higher gearing. In all honesty i dont know much about speed running but i do know air flow and ballooning will play a large roll at high speed. I have seen pinion to pinion mods done to reach higher speeds as well so maybe gearing is your answer?

No i would think those are alright. I'm not sure brandon might be right. The 2400 might be to much motor for 3s. Like i said i'm not overly familiar with top speed running but i woulda thought the 2400 would get you past 70mph.

Ok. You should be able to get a rough idea if you calculate the gear ratio out.

The 2400 combo on 4S is good for 80mph or more! Your jaw is going to drop.

Pssht, a whole lot of working, chilling, and going to the rc race track with a pair of rustlers. How about you, sounds like you've got the need for speed again. You know that you can toss 5S worth of lipo in there for a pass or two lol.

Nice, the gt8 conversions are getting pretty rediculous around here in a good way of course. The rustler should tie you over till its built.

I know speed running is your thing, but please run that bad boy with a mild gear one time to do some holeshots/40 yard dashes The 2400 is such a beast, I miss having that motor. I was always in awe at the amount of force it had from a stand still.

Are you going to make a build thread for the gt8?

You should definitely do a thread. No two are exactly alike.

on 3s with that 2400kv motor you should just gear it up get some mod1 gears. I use a 550 2200kv 4pole motor on 17/36 mod1 I have hit 55mph and it stays really cool motor gets warm after about 15min of speed runs
