Thumbs down Buying XO-1 Not a RTR

With The price drop recently, it is not worth buying a "roller" without tires, TX, batteries, motor & ESC.
And think you can build it your way cheaper.

I have found this out, with the price drop, you cant build one, for cheaper.

But mine is one of a kind, at least for now.

Mine was almost a roller, just add wheels.
then TX &RX, motor, esc, servo

and a few other things missing.

I have been doing the math on this recently. (thinking about finally getting one and doing a budget build along the lines that theJang did). You may be right.

BUT if you have all the electronics (and batteries) you should be able to do it for under $450-500. Maybe a touch less if you get some eBay luck on your side.

It is always worth buying a roller if you get it for the right price and the seller actually ships it to you...

There's a roller on ebay right now missing electronics, tires, and body. for under $200.
Everything else looks to be there.

For what i have here right now including a sacrifical vehicle i would ultimately just turn into a roller and sell off.
I would be looking at the following for example.

    Ebay roller CAD$175 +shipping
    Body $50 from ebay
    Tires $90 ish from ebay

All electronics are here already, i wouldn't be running the Tqi radio so no need for extra telemetry goodies.
So i could really get into one for $400 and then i could probably sell my roller locally for $200 ish.

Not a bad trade off for an XO-1 considering the original cost on them.

Im throwing enough bodies at my painter haha, i would mind a stock painted body. They have come way down in price too. i remember seeing them for $120-140 + shipping not too long ago.

Realistically i dont even need to buy tires, i have multiple sets of sweeps up here that i have used and intend to use on my Ofna.

Currently maybe. I have seen some dirt cheap as well. Its what I like to call getting eBay luck on your side. Its all about whats available when you need it. Or getting lucky and sniping an auction for cheap.
