I thought you would get a lot more sag then that with very little preload. What holes are your shocks mounted at?

    Mine are real nice
Got like 20 packs threw them and I see almost no wear

So sometime this week I'll be going to my LHS
    Say I have 160$
    What should I buy?

Is the protrac kit better now?

In my opinion RPM or STRC is the way to go, I'm sure there are many people that disagree with me but I dont think $66 bucks is worth it. I would get tires and RPM parts.

RPM is lightweight and affordable and STRC if you want aluminum that you know will last. I just think the PL stuff is overpriced considering its plastic.

Tires suited to the track will have the single largest change in handling. The ProTrac is most certainly not worth the $66. If you can't tune a stock-width suspension, you can't tune a ProTrac either. The only advantages I see of it is it gives you more rim choices, and the ability to swap tires front to rear. You can do the same with ProTrac front arms and Rustler/Pede rears, and that will only run you about $21-22. Then pick any zero offset rim, like those for Ten-SCTE or SC10 4x4.

I hate the different offset front and rear wheels on Traxxas vehicles. But I hated the front bearing/rear pin drive on AE, too.

Maybe a flotek body or jconcepts equivalent. An RPM rear bumper mount is a necessity if you don't want the stock one digging into the ground

I would probably do something about the transmission, I would constantly strip something in the tranny when I would jump unless I had my slipper super loose.

let off the throttle when you land man, i ran mine 1/4 off (little looser yet racing) and the only time i ever did any trans damage was from landing under throttle. it was either from that of punching it suddenly from dead stops to try and ride wheelies. its been awhile ago now so i dont remember which it was lol.

    I barely have any troubles
Over the past two years of owning a slash I've trashed 2 idlers, 1 diff and 1 top shaft
I will be going with another rpm transmission case as I love mine
Whenever I hit the throttle I track straight
Before installing the rpm transmission I would go to one side

I would let go of the throttle, one time I was told that bottoming out can also contribute to it, dont know if thats true though

and also if you are going to go the lcg route, I would do strc due to the fact that you can convert between bandit, slash, and rustler. But if you don't want that the Anza lcg looks nice or you could go with proline.

I am one of the biggest anti pro-line people out here,I dont like the company,99.9% of their products,or the lies they tell you when you ask why their products stink.
But as far as the suspension kit,I think its one of the few things worth buying.
I paid $55 for this kit,and tho there might be cheaper,or even stronger(rpm)units out there,it's not bad.
If you add it up piece for piece it's price competitive with the others.
If RPM made extend control arms I would surely purchase them.
Everything in this hobby is over priced, and a lot of people, including me,will pay more for bling, but Doc is right about the fact, when you start to worry about bling on a race only rig, your not really racing any more.

So far so good, but I have heard of bad molds from pro-line.
I really am not trying to stand up for pl as I believe their a company who has lost quality control.
They sell us a trans that's junk then say its for brushed motors only.
If this is true, why is it on their very own advertisement they show two slash rigs with vxl systems in them.
I'm just saying in my opinion in this circumstance its not a bad way to go.
I do know a lot of other racers with them and no performance issues yet.

Here's one place, they do far more machining for a lighter chassis, and the carbon fiber parts will give you some room.
