As long as you can get it. Otherwise you may have to go with the STRC, sounds like this is going to be a good build based on our discussions. 82 posts in two days on this thread. Makes me miss having a 2wd

If I can't go Anza then I'll go proline..
Just because I want something different
I don't like making an extension
IMO it looks cheap and I want my truck to be noticed at the track

Anza > ProLine, because though they're about the same pricepoint, the Anza isn't riddled with ProLine plastics, and the Anza will actually work with other manufacturer's parts, where the PL pretty much only works with their own Pro2 rubbish.

    That's like twice the price
Twice the price four times the quality.
I have a pro-line lcg and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but I will be using anza for my next build.
Avoid the pro-line lcg,it should be the same price or cheaper then strc.
    In fact imo,avoid 99.5% of everything pro-line.
There are a couple things they have the market cornered on so if you want it you have to buy pl,but if there's a way around it,I will take it.
Their own pro-line drive shaft kit doesn't fit their trans well, even in the farthest control arm hole the left shaft can come out when the suspension unloads.
Who do they have for engineer's?
Between them and quality control,if it exists?
They should have been fired a long time ago.
Just my opinion but more and more people join the pro line haters club every day.

the only thing I like of Pro-line is their bodies, tires, and wheels. Other than those I will never buy anything Pro-line. I'm debating whether to sell my 4x4 lcg and get a 2wd or keep my 4x4.

This would be your personal choice.
What do most people in your area race or bash.
I personally am 2wd all the way, my scte's sit in a box, they serve no purpose to me.
But that's because no one around here will race them, they say their just to easy to drive.
I must agree, they dont do the tricks a 2wd will do,but again its really up to you and what you like.
I think you'll enjoy either one.
If you can swing it keep them both.
I have thought about offing the 4x4's,but that's when some one will say their starting a 4x4 class.

    So I was thinking today
Should I buy my new slash 2wd right now?
With my paycheck this week, graduation money, and birthday money I should have enough
Maybe a bit from my bank account
    I can then buy it

Or should I buy a bunch of upgrades for it and just have all the upgrades waiting until I get the truck
(other then the shock oil, springs and shocks, I'll be testing with those)

Wow tough choice, you already have a 2wd right?
That's the thing with the slash, out of the box they need some upgrades in a hurry.
They have a slash out now for $200 even,it has no battery or cheap charger.
Might be the way you want to go.

    Maybe I'll work Friday too...
I'm not Susposed to because my dad said he didn't want me too but I can always ask
Then I can make some more money..

    But here's an idea..
I'm not even going to run this thing, only at the track
So maybe I can wait on the motor system..

Gonna buy a brushed slash like you got for your grandson
Then whenever I go to the track I put my brushless system in it

It still has the old white plastic steering bell, the vxl comes with the 4x4 bell crank.
You can but bearings in them but not the best.
I think it also has regular axles,I'm told the vxl comes with heavy duty axles.
But at $200 vs $429,it all comes out in the wash, either way you pay, just a sooner or later thing.

If you're going to build it by using the Anza chassis as a base, there's no need to buy a kit or roller. Just piece it together. Especially with the part-out houses like DollarHobbyz-- full set of stock a-arms $3, bumpers $3, turnbuckles $5. You could probably piece the front and rear clips together using the aftermarket parts of your choosing for about the same price as buying a new XL-5.
