    My REVO-E build (take 2) :)

well, here it comes again...... to build another one of my most favorite truck of all.....my REVO-E. I took some of my spare parts out of the storage box and I'm shock how much parts i have left.

here are some of the gathering

    modified nitro chassis

    Tekno Motor Mount

    different angle shot

here's what it looks like with ESC tray and battery tray installed

if you have a revo 3.3 nitro/electric conversion the batt tray is located at the rear side where the tank was, mine is located more toward the front and mounted lower.

as for my receiver box, it a small aluminum sheet bridging from steering servo mount to motor mount, it also gives a stiffness to the chassis.

more parts and pics to come

OK here's the deal, I am going to do some testing with my tranny gears, (nitro 3.3 tranny) I know the 2nd gear is 38t and top gear is 18t but I'm going to try XO-1 high speed gear bore it to 6mm and locked it on primary shaft then at the top input shaft is 22t. You guys think this gears might be a little bit too much for the motor? my spur gear is 40t and pinion 15t Mod1.

I like the summit a-arms because you can extend the rear.

its coming along slowly but surely

thanks, I need something to play here at the park while my boys playing at the playground lol. with my onroad car its to far away to watch my boys and play at the same time hahahha. as for the rear toe in....yes still need some adjustment, i'll get that fixed when all the parts are all here

took out my XO-1 diffs so that I can use it with this build and to find out its just a regular slash 4x4 diffs, I e-mailed the seller not long ago now, I have to wait for their respond. that sucks!!!

Looks good, just curious why did you choose summit arms, instead of rpm true tracks.

RPM don't make extended arms for summit, if they did i'll be all over it . I like the extended wheelbase which give me 14 1/2 inches, I wont run the revo driveshaft as it give to much stress due to the angle, waiting for the right moment to buy the summit driveshafts LOL.

Wait.... The slash 4x4 and xo Diffs are the same? Has anyone tried these in a revo and do they hold up to more power?

the difference between the XO-1 and slash 4x4 is that XO-1 diffs has an I bar inside now, with differences between XO-1 and ERBE is the size of the output shafts by 1mm (revo 6mm/XO-1 5mm). what I'm doing was swapping the output shaft and put my spare from my REVO.

its durable for what its for, it doesn't go offroad or high jumps like the trucks do. you see XO-1 snapping axles before the diffs go out and that's on 8s.

Yep, the E-Revo diffs are the strongest diffs you are going to find in all of Traxxas's cars, still not enough for the E-Revo though.

its plenty strong enough if you only run it on 4s which is what i'm only planning of running it with but yeah they sure are one of the strongest diffs (ERBE/EMBE)

here's the pictures of my "thought" it was an XO-1 diff. getting ready to swap out the output shaft but now I have to wait for the real XO-1 diff before I can do everything and close it together.

this is actually just a regular slash 4x4 diffs

    my spare revo output shafts

difference between the 2 output shafts ends

my spare ERBE diff cup but, as we know this don't come with the I bar, you have to buy them separate.

I went to the LHS to buy the diff internal gears, diff cup and outer diff case. ofcourse they only have one of each so I only manage to complete one diff lol. still waiting for the seller's respond from ebay for giving me the slash 4x4 diffs instead of XO-1, maybe tomorrow they'll respond my e-mail.

then, I already have some pinion/ring gear. if the seller mail me the real XO-1 diffs then I can put that back into my XO-1 car

alright update about the XO-1 diffs, they're sending me the real XO-1 diffs (F/R) along with a prepaid envelope to return the slash 4x4 diffs, this is awesome!!!.
also received some more parts today, REVO FOC kit, REVO pushrods (with blue rings), blue/silver REVO springs, and a couple of set of rockers P2/LT.
as for the FOC, I got the lightened shaft, I drill the shaft to use a bigger pin to hold the gear, didn't like how small the pin was so, I use the one from the 17mm hex screw pin, I wanted to do the same to the primary shaft except, I don't have a drill bit that can penetrate thru the shaft, guys got any tip or what drill bit to use?

Cobalt drill bits are used from drilling stainless steel. Very hard tipped so that might work..

received my Tekno 22T pinion for my top gear, what a like about this pinion is that it uses bigger grub screw than any regular pinion grub screws.

now all I have to do is bore the 34T pinion to 6mm, got to buy a drill bit to penetrate this hardened pinion

That looks like a good fit. I've always thought the stock gears were fairly robust to begin with but the pins snap. Did the grub screw land on a hole or a flat spot? Those metal on metal gears may wear rapidly.

Ya, if those aren't hardened steel gears, then they will wear down abnormally fast.
    looks great though.

Update, well I don't have anything to update since my XO-1 diffs isn't here yet so, I email them back, I ask them if they mailed it and now I was told that since I didn't respond to them that they didn't send it out. I didn't respond cause I assume from their respond was "I’m very sorry about that. We will send you an XO-1 differential with a prepaid return mailer for the Slash 4x4 differential."

I know nothing on this subject but from experience guys how does a erevo brushless edition vary in performance, durability and feel to a brushless converted revo? I know there are many parts that are the same but theres still a reason why alot of people still do conversions.

Really like the look of a conversion revo but for now my plastic revo is doing just great
