    Question Tape The Tires

I Ripped My stock tires so I purchased new wheels and Trencher tires. Can anyone help me with a little info? How do I tape the insides so they don't grow , one layer, side wall to side wall, Down the middle ? I have Duct or Gorilla tape. I have a 3908 model

    Thank you
    Fritz

I used this. It works for all tires big, or small.
I'm not krazy. My mother had me tested.

That is exactly what I wanted, Thanks.

Do I have to buy different wheels. I got tarxxas wheels with pro line tires and it looks like the beads are to thick to go in the groove

Depends on whether you have the same type tire/rim beads.

If you have say a 3.2 tire bead & a 3.8" rim bead then they will not fit without modding the tire.

What tire & what rims do you have?

The tires are 3.8"/40series but they have the old style bead & are not compatible with the Traxxas bead rims.

The 3.8 40" series needs a 40 series rim to go with it, it has the old style bead.
This is the rim you need to fit on your 40 series Trencher.

The Traxxas 3.8" Part#5172R has the newer "Traxxas Style bead" which is thin & slips into the grove on the rim.

thanks for the info. I will have to get a set of tech 5 wheels. The 40 series look tall I might have to go down a few teeth on the spur gear.

Trnecher 40 series? Are those the trencher X? If so, I did this and they have eliminated ballooning.

I took my wheels apart, cleaned them, dried them, and duck taped them. Now, all I have to do is balance them. I was surprised that they were all wet and sandy-ish inside.

Balancing wheels is a whole lot easier than balancing heli blades.

I would use Gorilla Tape...I've tried regular Duct tape in the past and its come loose from the tyre on 6s power...the Gorilla Tape is still holding up strong...I would balance the wheels while you at it too.

Post #91 for taping and post #97 for balancing

Man, I'll tell you what. Balancing/taping the wheels sure does make a big difference.
