    Confused?!? About new motor

I'm replacing the motor in my revo. The new motor's crank is shorter than the one I took out. What do I need to get the flywheel and clutch on the end of the crank

There's a nut tht threads on the crank. Take it off your old one. It's a IPS shaft.

You got the motor with the multi shaft crank. I went through the same thing. I ERP my 3.3 and the guy at the LHS accidently ordered me that same motor. I had him send it back for the IPS shaft motor. Where did you get the motor from? If you got it from a LHS take it back and tell them it's the wrong one and see what they can do.

I bought a jato last summer and I got the motor NIB with it. I ordered the ips crank that I will put in. . Does the sleeve need to come out to get the crank out?

Doesn't need to come all the way out, just high enough that the rod can clear.

There is red greasey looking substance in the crank case. I plan on spraying it all down with wd40 but do they put a grease in it at factory?

this is a new engine but I don't know how long it's been sitting. I'm thinking its just deteriorated oil/grease but I'm not totally sure with it being chunky

I would Q~tip the gunk out then spray it out good, make sure the bearings run smooth, then put it together & run it.
    Look out for the tree/crunch!

you did not need to buy a new crankshaft.. the screws that you pictured one would screw into the end of the crankshaft then there is another part (I don't have the # handy) that screws onto it to tighten the flywheel and hold the clutch assembly..

I would get some nitro cleaner or I've used brake parts cleaner or carb cleaner any would work to clean that engine out.. then lube the bearings with some 20-50 synthetic oil and spin them a few times and put a drop of that oil on the crank as you assemble it, as well as the rod, wrist pin and so on..
