    1st time painting body

So I've decided to give it a try in painting a new body because the stock body is just too flimsy versus the Proline F-150 Ford SVT Raptor Body. Wish me luck!!!

This has 2 coats of paint on it already but still need a lot more.

I'll be interested to know how this body fits with trenchers, as i've had to trim some other bodies quite a bit??

Great start on the paint job. Just so you know it will look better than it currently does due to the thin protective layer on the outside which always distorts the paint job a bit as you are going along. Good fun!

Should be fine with trenchers unless you've lowered the body - then it will rub. I had that problem, but you just hack out some more of the wheel wells.

First of I appreciate everyone's positive feedback and comments. I was nervous because I've never painted an RC body. My LHS suggested to paint it with a white backing after I've applied the red coat because he said the color will just pop out and he was right because before the white paint the color was dull and almost light red leaning towards orange almost. So here is the final product. I didn't want to tke a big risk and try all these designs other then stock design with the decals.

My next project will be with designs any suggestion on what body? oh I'll be using liquid mask next time instead of masking tape etc.

The body fits just fine with the trenchers without any modification to the body. I've posted pictures above for you to see.

DOH completely forgot about it being fully compressed. Time to trim the T-Bone front bumper just a tiny bit.

Yeah i've lowered the body posts which normally means a bit of trimming is required, only a few bodies fit without trimming on a lowered stampede

So I've decided to paint another body. This time I've learned from my mistakes (leaking of the paint) and hopefully this project comes together better. I will be putting some artwork on it provided by DC and theme will be Flash LOL. Anyways here are pictures of my customized body mounts ( don't laugh it's a bit ghetto but will hold up).

oh my bad didnt know. Basically took off the mounts first and unscrewed it from the long mounts then I screwed it in then dremel the end of it and screw it on the mount. I'm not sure if that makes any sense to you but let me take it apart and show you ok

Here are the parts. basically I used a spare screw I had and screwed it into this post then once I am satisfied with the length of how the screw is in i use a dremel to cut the head of it then just screw it in the body mount or whatever you call it. And in the back I actually cut that part to make it shorter and did the same process in the front after cutting some of the plastic. I hope this helps you out and I'm sorry if I'm still not making any sense.

I like the hummer body - it is so square that it seems to take a good beating, even though its quoted as being slightly thinner than the other proline bodies (if memory serves me correctly)

I was going to say that as well but I didn't want to be mean since they're new to this forum. IMO that doesn't belong on the forum.

I definitely agree they are good bodies. I am thinking of doing another project with another body but it will probably be the ford raptor because the first one turned bad so I no longer use it.

Usually, your supposed to paint the darker colors first, but with the many fades I have done, Painting the lighter colors first ALWAYS comes out looking better.
