    Another engine?

    Hey Guys,

Which engine can I use instead of the TRX .12 and TRX .15?

Is there an OS engine or another brand that will fit?

    Thanks!

    Daniel.

What's it going in? If it came wit a .15 you should be able to change the motor mount and put a 2.5 or 3.3 in it.

I prefer to use another .12 or .15 engine but not from Traxxas, and for these trucks we need a a custom motor mount as there's no replacement for it...

I'm pretty sure there was an O.S. motor that would fit. Can't remember if the brake assembly would fit on the crank shaft, but pretty sure it did because the crank had long threads on the end that you could cut to whatever length you needed. Wanna say it was a .12 and/or .15 CV. They had red anodized rectangular cooling heads.

IIRC, they're discontinued, but I'll see what I can dig up.

it was the original os cz-r .12 i believe you still had to slightly mod the engine mount.

Do you think something like this would work?

I can make a custom mount, I'm worried about the crankshaft...

You can always cut the crank down as long as its not drastically long

daniel if your gonna just mke your own mount you might as well go with a really good engine. have one myself and its the best small engine ive ever had. solid, reliable, more than enough power too.
