i'm not too sure about the traxxas one, it doesn't seem to have much contact around the sides of the motor

Search for the Kontronik KK480 if your are looking for full contact.

I have seen pictures of it on a MERV, but you'll need to cut down some fin area to make it fit.

    I run two Align K10175A.

not full contact, just something thats about 50%, so i will follow your footsteps and go with the Align. did you have any clearance issues regarding the receiver box and esc? is it possible if you could post a picture?

    thanks for the help!

I guess it should fit, but i dont run any stock electronics and my receiver + esc switched positions.

Someone calculated it once and due to the larger fins, the Align should provide a bit more cooling area then the Traxxas heatsink. Dunno if it makes that big of a difference though.

I use the Traxxas heat sink. It lowered my motor temps by about 10 which is as much as I have ever seen a clip on heat sink lower temps.

my traxxas heat sink works well too. just used the thermal paste they gave with it and made sure it was spread all over. i dont really see why anyone wouldnt want to use it. unless you wanted one with a fan in which case i heard that the toyz makes a nice one that is supposed to work well.

I wish I bought one with the fan ... I have traxxas one from above link and need to figure out how to mount a fan to it now ... It is fine and looks good, but better cooling need better airflow!

i ended up buying a this one. from the curve, it looks like it will be covering at least 50% of the motor.

it cost only $6 shipped to my door from Hong Kong so it will won't be much of a loss if it isn't as good as a trx one (especially compared to the price the national traxxas supply has [click here]), and the fact that it is aesthetically pleasing is just a bonus.
