Question Grease the differentials bearings - best solution?

    Hi,

It's time to grease my Summit differentials bearings and I found this tutorial but I think is a lot of work and time consuming to open all of the parts just to be able to grease the bearings.

Do you know if it's possible to do this job without opening the differentials ? I mean to grease the bearings from outside:

    Thanks,
    Stefan

If you did grease the diff (or bearings?) from the outside, it would quickly leak back out. I don't even think you can grease them from the outside, but I could be wrong. You really need to take the diff out to grease and clean it. Don't worry, it's not really that hard to get the diffs in and out. Good luck!

Just the bearings for now! I still have the original ones - I bought the car last October and the bearings are so noisy.

If I have to open the differentials is better to upgrade the bearing with better ones (ABEC 3 ? or ?) or just grease them!

The thing is, I don't wanna waste my time again soon if I'll have to replace the original bearings even if I'll grase them today.
As I know they are not a good quality ones and a lot of people just upgrade to a better ones.

Could you please let me know what would be the best - Abec 3, Ceramic, or ?
What size should I look for ?

    Thanks

I was thinking about this one, but I'm not sure if I really need to change them or I can just grease the original ones.

For me the only bearings I upgraded were inner and outer wheel bearings
And inner and outer pinion bearings in the diff that's it.I pack my new bearings (stock traxxas) with some marine grease, yes it will create some drag but they last longer and I don't do much bashing.i do run in the wet a fair bit though.wheel bearings take a lot of punishment I used sealed ceramics there

I used the parts list for bearing sizes and ordered just the bearings I wanted
    From boca there are others.

Not a bad price I have probably spent 3/4 of that on replacements and a few extra

I just placed the order yesterday, I can'd wait for them to arrive.
It's gonna be crazy to replace them all, a lot of work I suppose!!
