    Project Green Machine...

Well,I've determined that my Merv with the 1/10 Castle 5700kv is best suited for speed runs...so I decided that I needed a basher.
I just couldn't have anything stock though.
I had a Rally that I was in the process of converting into a Slash...but switched gears.
Last night I dyed the chassis and rockers.

Here's where it sits as of tonight...

Now I'm waiting on the rest of the parts to come in...
    RPM Carriers(green)
    Grave Digger Toe Links
    Grave Digger Bumpers
    4 Merv axles
    Merv center shafts
    green shock socks
    Hopper wheelie bar
    T-Bone skids
wing mount and CF or Ofna wing(haven't decided yet)
Merv Pro-Graphics body(going to spray lime green)

    I also haven't decided on what tires/wheels I want.
For the time being...I'll be running my Desperado's and Dirt Hawgs.

I had the green rpm arms and knuckles as well, and it looked awesome! However, after about 5-6 runs I ran into the dreaded ovaling of the bearing hole in one of the knuckles, ...hopefully you will not run into the same problem!

If they do...I'll just take advantage of RPM's lifetime warranty(or does it not cover that?)

If not...I'll just go with black aluminum GH carriers.

Shouldn't wear that fast though...I can always try.
Plus...have the same rpm green carriers on my KB rally...and I'm sure they won't be subjected to the abuse that the Merv will.
I can always go back to stock on it if need be.

Yeah, i am going to try out their warranty as well. Like you said, it shouldn't wear out THAT fast, ...at least I will have a backup pair since I went ahead and ordered some HR ones last week, lol.

Well, You're in luck...I've been wanting to do a green machine project myself, I've done the research and all, just haven't gotten around to it. Here's the RIT formula:

RIT Dye Color Formula 579: Lime Green
    2 tsp lemon yellow
    1 tsp aquamarine
    1 Cup water

This is done with the Liquid Dye not the powder. For the wing, you might want to multiply the formula by 4 and up the water to a gallon. More information on using the RIT Formulas can be found here: http://www.ritdye.com/dyeing-techniq...-formula-guide

Let me know how that goes, I'm interested in how close that is to the RPM Green.

Got a little done, but not much.
I had a buddy spray my old Merv body with bedliner while he was spraying a truck bed.
Should be good enough for a basher body, was free...and looks pretty cool.
Got the rear axle carriers in,so I installed them along with my 2 spare axles and went ahead and bolted on the back wheels.

    Still waiting on these items...
    front RPM Carriers(green)
    Grave Digger Toe Links
    Grave Digger Bumpers

    And still need to order...
4 Merv axles(so i'll have a couple for the pit box)
    green shock socks
    Hopper wheelie bar
    T-Bone skids
Traxxas wing mount and factory white wing(going to dye it lime green)
And eventually a set of white JConcepts buggy wheels and Goosebumps(going to dye the wheels green also)

Might also go ahead and get the ProGraphics body and spray it lime green.
Either that or a JConcepts Illuzion and paint it lime green and black.

Here's how it's sitting right now...

    Getting closer.
Still need the Hopper wheelie bar,T-Bone skids...and have to make a decision.

    Choice #1...

Dye the wheels and wing to match the suspension...
Get a ProGraphics Revo body and paint it lime green.

    Choice #2...

Leave the wing and wheels white...
Get a JConcepts Illuzion body, and paint it lime green with an offset white stripe down the center(like the stripes on a Camaro...but just one...big center stripe and 2 tiny outline stripes).
The bed and windows would be black.

With either setup my second set of tires/wheels will be HPI SS 5 spokes in either white, black,or green...with Proline Dirt Hawgs.

Anyway...here's how it's sitting right now.
Tires won't be glued until I make a decision...

My buddy just bought a body like that for his 1/10 slash, and it looks even better in person! He got it off eBay. Is that the bulletproof body or something else?

It's a factory Merv body, that my buddy sprayed with LineX truck bedliner.
He did a Rally body for me also.

Actually...I've decided I like the white wing and wheels.
So that being said...my second set of tires/wheels will be HPI SS 5 spokes in whitewith Proline Dirt Hawgs.

As for the body...It will be the JConcepts Illuzion Hi-Flow.
It will either be green with white stripes or white with green stripes.
Kinda pulling towards the white...thinking that it might be "too much" green the other way.

Will still be adding the Hopper wheelie bar and T-Bone skids.
And I'm probably going to install the center diff with some 100wt oil in it.

Also have a few more mods planned on an "as needed" basis.
    1. Upgraded servo (probably the Hitec 5085WP)
    2. Upgrade the shocks (with the aluminum bodies and stock components)
    3. Upgrade the ESC to a Castle Sidewinder3.
    4. Replace the RPM carriers once they wear out with something better

Anyone have any other suggestions to make this thing as bulletproof as possible?

    Thanks for the compliments.

I've decided I'm keeping the wheels and wing white.
    I like how they "pop".
(plus when I destroy this wing...another replacement is as easy as bolting one on)

    Now...JConcepts Illuzion Hi-Flow body...

    1. green with white accent stripes/graphics.
    or...
    2. white with green accent stripes/graphics.

Just worried it will be too much green.

I considered dyeing the wheels green...but decided that it might be too much.
Plus I was worried about the green not matching, and having a bunch of different shades of green just wouldn't look right IMO.(besides...they are already glued.)

I'll be adding a couple more sets of tires/wheels for it.
Proline Trenchers and Speed Hawgs...both sets mounted on 2" wide HPI SS 5 spoke white wheels.

As for running it yet...I just painted the body last night.
The extent of the run time on this one so far is about 5 minutes around the back yard.
T-Bone skids should be here in a few days.

T-Bone Skids arrived today!!!(perfect since today is my b-day,lol)
Had to lose the Traxxas wheelie bar as it won't work with the t-Bone rear bumper.
Going to order a Hopper wheelie bar to replace it.
