Purple springs don't cut the cheese.

So I have a 3.3 converted to electric and the purple springs only snap halfway back up after I push it down from the top. The pre-load does not help. What stiffer spring options do I have?

The revo is supposed to sag a little, check the manual for a better explanation. I thought the sag was meant to be 1/3 of the travel.

I think it's a big issue, I do big jumps. Plus the front end is higher than the rear and I can't do anything with all these wheelies.

Loosen your slipper, first. Then consider using the LT rockers for maximum suspension travel. Take some time to understand all the suspension settings then you will know what you need to do to get the effect you are looking for. Their is a great explanation of all this in the pitpass section of this site.

By slipper do you mean the "preload spring ring" haha? I understand basic shock mechanics about the oil and progressive rate, It just doesn't have that stiffness I want. I don't know how the suspension differs specifically to the revo, I'm looking at the lt rockers.

What bothers me most is that the front suspension performs perfectly. On my nitro convert the mmm is very close to the back, so I think the added weight is the issue. I bought the revo and it came with p2s.

It's never going to sit at maximum ride height it will always have a little sag but I would use lt rockers or p1 if its really an issue

There isn't any weight up there. I have 3 revos the only way to get full ride height is to use lt or p1 rockers. And the ne of your thread I think you mean cut the mustard lol cut the cheese to umm well not that

LT rockers are very hard on stock drive shafts.

check for any binding, like pivot ball caps..

Ya I don't recommend lt rockers but that's the only way to achieve what he wants I would just let the suspension work like its designed to I haven't had any issues yet and I'm doing some very large jumps as does everyone else I think what you need is heavier oil and vdp pistons

Yeah...it's a weight issue. Shouldn't I get like double orange or double yellow?

For better comprehension I took a video. As you can see I had to help the last half of the rear.

Do the arms move freely without the shocks on?I would think purple would be too stiff

You might not have enough oil in the shocks, I had that problem and i'm running purple too.

I'm not sure that there actually s a problem it's normal to have some squat if it doesn't its to stiff

no they need to be Full & have a little oil come out when you put on the shock cap, but it looks about right, it will not go to full ride height after suspension is compressed...

edit that is a lot of preload....

    how I set my preload..

    Ride Height & Suspension Set~Up:
    My Bash set up:
P2 Rockers 80 wt Shock Fluid, Blue Rear Silver Front, inner hole.
I set the shock preload by pushing the chassis to the ground.
If the springs fully compress, back off the preload, if not fully compress increase the preload..
Will also give you a little more ride height..

You could always try Summit springs. They are longer then revo springs and offer stiffer options. I use a set of double orange summit springs and i can make my truck sit up high and stiff.

thought id do a vid so you could see what was happening when I used differant oil thickness and shock spirings.
simply put the heavier oil you use the heavier spings you will need and/or larger pistons holes in the shock. else the spring will not be able to push the shock back out.

Im thinking your issue is that your using 80wht oil, use 40 I bet that thing will pop right back up no bother...

notice how the heavier oil in my 3.3 causes the truck to sit lower then the others..
