slow with big block boss 302?

I put the vxl 3500 in the stang, and it seems really slow. im using 2s lipo, and good street tires. it has the stock gearing. what can i do to increase the speed. and im thinking of putting these on it http://prolineracing.com/tires/road-...-black-wheels/. will it work?

    What are your temps?

Those tires will not fit under the Boss body.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

With that height, you may have to get something that doesn't cover the tires... which would mean that the arms, rods, and axles may need to be swapped out to Revo length.

you should gear up if your motor is not working very hard with the gearing you have

you could just convert to a 1/16 e revo to get those tires to work
With great brushless comes great responsibility.

Did you double check that the esc is not in training mode?

Is your battery capable of powering that system? Do you have a capacitor to boots your battery?

if memory is right stock gearing is 28/45 for the 4000kv motor(380)
and you put in the big 3500kv motor at the same gearing?......with the same gearing your loseing 500rpm per volt.with a 2s lipo compaired to the stock mini motor your loseing a total of 4200rpm's useing the bigger motor
so you need to gear up to compensaite for the loss of rpm....... i dont know the math
    summit /mustang /stampede-2s spc lipo

You can multiply the motor Kv with the pinion size and keep that factor the same when you pick a different Kv motor.
4000 x 28 = 112000. For a 3500Kv motor you can divide the 112000 by 3500, which means a 32T pinion would give the same top speed with the rest the same.
    Nobody is born with experience
