Buy the Traxxax lipos and put your mind to rest. It sounds like you are stressin about cutting the vents. I am all thumbs mechaniclly (see I cant even spell it) and it took me about 10 minutes on the first ones and by the time I got to the last Summit I could do it blindfolded. It really is no big deal. Besides its a better way to run your leads than coming out the side of the compartment in the little notch.

Yeah, but the Traxxas ones are so expensive.

I have the SPC 8200's and onyx 245 setup. Takes about 50-65 minutes from a storage charge. I've never tried to completely recharge from low voltage cutoff..2+hrs of runtime per day is plenty for me
These batteries teamed with my tacon 2150 and hobbywing esc yield extremely long runtimes in crawling situations.

I will. I just don't want my summit to end up a junker like my rustler did.

Like jamann said ^^ if you dont like it or screw something up you can buy a new set of fins for a couple bucks. IMO, its the only way to route the wires.......looks clean.

Remove them from the truck. Then you can get all the angles you may need to get them to look how to want.you won't even notice them gone

Exactly, there are only two screws holing on each vent. A sharp razor blade should do the trick; if not a file can smooth them down. I cut the fins out of my sons truck this weekend and he is not even running LiPo yet. It took maybe 15 mins total. Dont over think this one!

Yes, but you cannot run them with the stock ESC.

Well... he could run a 2s and 3s to equal 5s power though on the stock esc

I believe there is some evidence that the LVD-equipped EVX-2 goes into overvoltage protection if 5S is connected with LVD enabled.

I could believe that, not an issue for those of us who run with the EVX-2s LVD disabled and run a external LVD/LVA.

Will 4s be sufficient for some good bashing?

Good. I will be getting that within the next two months. (I'm 15, kind of hard to save up money.) I make about $70 a weekend, and I have $130 now.

    lol

What really bites is when I am saving for something big and just when I get the stock pile big enough some other more important life emergency pops up... car repairs and house repairs mostly... and drain my RC stash.

Before we get too depressed, maybe it's time to get back on-topic, lol.
