    old question, new dummie.

i have a 2wd slash with cc brushless system. has the proline.protrac kit also. was looking to.make it more useful sence i dont go to the track any more. stuck my 2.2 crawler tires on today and it looked good. so i want to make it a pede.. whats the changes? i take it shocks are the same. different axels and arms, tie rods and stuff. difffrent frame and body mounts. same trans i think the 272? what do i need to do to make this a basher? is the frame different length? or is the pede narrower? what is likely.to break with the 3800kw bl and the big shoes? starting off with a 15/90 any good? how big of a tire can i run till the suspension gives out? thanks guys and gals!

You really don't need to do much you can use the same chassis and run it as a longer pede. I think the a-arms are the same but you could install the protrac kit to make it even wider and just find a body that fits.

EDIT: You already got the protrac kit nvm then

When i made my sl2sh into a p2de to run one of those cool MJ bodies, all i bought was the chassis as i already had the protrac arms as u, and some different rod ends to change the length of the links as needed. I used the front skid and just drilled new holes in the chassis, and some 3mm lock nuts from i dont know where, heh. I had monster jam mounts on the slash for a weird body i was running so that also worked out just fine. It was a tedius swap, but pretty easy on the old wallet. Im runnin my mmp/3800 combo at 60% max power so i dont shred those small stock drive shafts, heh.

Just change the crawler tires (they look so darn good tho) with either trenchers or mashers, and you will have the best 2wd MT that traxxas makes cause its big bad and stable.

Sorry not trying to hijack your thread, but is the protrac kit just the arms? Do they make it for the P2de or does the P4de version work?

Woah get some offset hex's and that thing would look like a sweet mud bogger! Need a true scale body too.

Add big tires like Fr8ture and call it done. I had to raise my body mounts as far as they would go then trim an old Slash body to make it work, but it was almost a new truck when I ran it the first time. Don't forget to gear down when you add tall tires because they will raise your gearing.
