    Wow. Rally is fun :)

So ive spent last week getting my rally setup. One word. Wow
I started with a slash ultimate roller
Added some spice. Mamba monster from my revo
    Added a xo1 esc
    17mm extenders
    Traxxas cvds front n rear
    Xo1 shocks
    Rpm arms
    Traxxas alloy shock towers
    Xo1 wheels and tires

This thing accelerates great. Havent setup the suspension yet, thinking maybe a bit softer springs than the stock xo1 springs as its a bit twitchy

Things ordered and in the mail are
    Axis support bar
    Suprasales tyres
    Tbone front n rear bumpers
And a bit of fine tuning

This is my road car and currently getting the bits together to make an identical rally for an off roader.

thought i'd post up some pics

thought i'd go blue as everything comes in blue

motor and esc fit perfectly, with not 1mm to spare at each end

i ordered the wrong battery extension kit, got the one for the slash 2wd
so i zip tied the old one to the new one at the back end and i drilled in the pin into the old bit at the front end
    works a treat
holds my 2x traxxas 5000mah lipos perfectly

just a tip for anyone else, the rear carriers stock have too much of a toe in for my liking, i found on another forum, someone switched left to right and right to left. i did that and now the wheels are perfectly straight.

just ordered a hot racing motor mount and motor plate also

the blues looks good coz everything else is blue but i also did buy a green and orange shell

a bit of a run today and 5 mins in i had a bit of a stack, the road was cold and tires were cold but i couldnt help myself with the trigger.
slammed into the gutter and snapped the brand new cvd rear stub axle
so put the stock rear driveshaft back in so its ready to go again

i've since dialled down the power to about 65% and its more controllable.......
will stick with this till i get used to it

well depends how accurate the telemetry is, but its showing 125kph top speed when i stacked it.
but the power comes on strong
i've put the center diff in last night but yet to run it, see if that helps put the power down better

But i think i moght buy another set of traxxas 3s's just for the rally

well silly me, package turned up today in the post
opened it up and i've ordered the slash t-bone front and rear bumpers
so i've just bought a slash roller on ebay to use them on.
cant waste good bumpers i suppose........

and now i have to make another order for the rally bumpers and wait another 2 weeks + for delivery.
    sucks living in australia!

and on another note, looks like my 2x axis body braces have been lost in the post......... i'll give it a couple more days and see if it "magically" turns up at my shipping forwarder but not holding much hope

Postage is a killer too...its about 20% of the total cost of a build. 2 weeks on a good delivery run, I've waited up to 6 weeks for things to arrive.

yes agreed, things cost too much here in aus. and alot of things we cant get here at all
i get most things via shipping forwarder, once everything is in the warehouse only takes about 3 days via tnt express to get here which is great.
shipping is so cheap within the usa and getting most things by only a handful of sellers helps alot.
usually only costs around $100-$130 for a big box of goodies to get delievered

well got a shipment in today
thank god for 3 day tnt express from california to australia
happy as a pig in you know what

    got some suprasales tyres
    some stock rally tyres
    some stock slash tyres
hr racing motor mount and plate
    strc steering bits
and a slash t bone front bumper (ordered wrong part but have ordered 2x slash rollers to use up these parts)
2x mamba monsters 2600kv's (for my slash's when they arrive)
and some other parts for my summit / revo / mini revo / mini rallys

have to say at the moment, the rally is my fav car
gonna be a longggggggg nite, may have to chuck a sicke tomorrow and play with these

the mamba monster2 motor is slighty shorter than the erevo motor i used

love the suprasales tires, they're gripper than i thought, out the front of my house, it holds the road better than my xo1 tyres. but will break traction at will also which is great.
will definately buy some more of these as i cant help myself drifting these

well mounted the hr motor mount / plate

found the original motor screw was too long to fit into the HR mount.
had to dremel some off, but i think i went a bit too much but seems ok
