    Gear Ratio help

    Hi guys,

New here; been following a long time and learning a ton.

I recently shredded my spyder gears running dual 3's on my brushless emaxx. It has the modded losi xxl axles setup. Im using the ultimate flm hybrids front and rear.

Being that I cant find many parts for caster, Im thinking of switching to a pair of V0rza diffs front and rear. The difference is 43T and a 10T spiral cut are common. Ive found a Mugen 13t spiral pinion but am not sure if that would work or if I can run the 10 and then compensate at the spur and pinion which sit at 65 and 19t respectively.

The way i understand it, id be running a 4.3:1 ratio vs a 3.3:1; hence im lookin at a 13t spiral cut pinion to keep the ratio the same or compensate elsewhere...i dont need that much torque!

What do yall think my options are> Im thinkin the los1 diffs too but they are pricey...Thanks fellaz.

I went with hyper 7 diffs in mine. I would try to run the 13t pinion. I have the losi diffs in my revo. They are pretty tough if you can make them work. I run aluminum cups and tin coated gears with yellow seal ceramic bearings
Question- did you shim your spider gears?

I shimmed outside the diff cuff inside the hybrids but not the inner spyders.

The hyper 7s, are they 43 t with 13t pinion? was it a direct fit? Thx for the reply.

    Yes 43/13
Check my maxx build. Overall not too much trouble once I figured it all out
The flm shafts wouldn't work made mine from the traxxas ones
I would always check the spider gears to see if they need shimmed

The mugen didn't work. Head on it was slightly bigger...I ended buying 2 hyper 7 diffs

I noticed the shafts were bigger so I did order up some 8mm rc monster cups.

I have the tekno conversion and use the losi xxl Cvds. The parts for the hypers are much more readily available than the casters so I think this was a great move in the long run.
