    Optimal Motor/ESC choice?

What would be the absolute best motor/esc choice for a Rally/drift car?
    (size/kv)

I have a Ken Block Gymkhana Rally but figured that since this section sees way more activity than the KB section...I would post it here instead.

what batteries do you plan on using? were you looking for more power/speed than stock? 1/10 castle sidewinder combo is a popular one, not sure what kv in a rally, probably 5700 or higher. the sidewinder (3s max) also makes a good direct replacement for the esc, since it is the weak link, then you can run 3s all day with lil heat issues! the 380 motor is pretty solid.

If it's purely for drifting then I would stay away from the big block just because it will make your COG off and you will traction roll. The sv2 5700 is a great combo.. But it isn't for drifting and you will need two batteries. Look into the neu 380 and a mmp or sv3, it will be way more powerful than stock and just as much torque as the big block.

I was actually considering this setup because I can get it pretty cheap...

That combo is probably way too powerful. I have a Leopard combo in my Mustang which works pretty good. Look for Leopardized Mustang, there is a topic about it. You might pick a higher Kv motor to make the wheels spin faster, but this works pretty good. ESC is pretty overpowered, but that makes it do it's job with ease.
