    Question trany flip

    I've heard of this before but what does this do and how do you do this?

    These threads will explain how to. The trans flip will under drive your gear train, and cut your top speed about half or so. Some do it for the a crawler type application. Some do it for small children to slow the truck down.

    it makes your car slower...mini summits do it for torque

    I did it , it makes it slower , but it has alot more torque ! Much better for crawling and less cogging.

    What you do is swap two gears in the tranny. One has 18 teeth and the other 25. Normally the 25 tooth "feeds" the 18 tooth, which give a 1.39 ratio. If you swap them, the ratio goes to 0.72. Since the ratio is reduced about 50%, your car will be about 50% slower. When you apply the same motor power, it will accelerate better due to the higher torque at the wheels.

    Ive done it on both my brushed mini summits so that my daughter and I can drive them in the house. She's 2 so the slower that truck goes the better. Even with the gears flipped they are still quite fast with proper gearing and a good power system.

    i did it and i was using a worn old titan 12t and i worked i had a lot more torque. Thanks every one for the info.
