speed control

hi there, im going to buy a e-revo which has no motor, no steering servo no speed control and no tires. any suggestions on what i should get. ill be driving in water, so it will have to be waterproof (for the speed control) thanks a lot!

sounds like a plan, that esc is already waterproof so it should be good.

The combo you posted on the link the MMM2-with the motor that's waterproof. About the servo I prefer a single servo I belive that hitec has some waterproofed servos, both stock combine are 250oz of torque so have that in mind.

Sounds like your taking my advise newbie on the roller and buying that combo I linked for you it will be a good combo and for servo go hitec I love mine and it doesn't say it's water proof bit it's been under water numerous times and you can water proof it if you want. And I like the stock traxxas 2.4 radio I have a spectrum dx3r but actually prefer the stock traxxas

Just a heads up...This is labelled on the back of the new MM2 esc...not to be used while submerged in liquid...it may void warranty.

I waterproofed my MM1 for driving in wet conditions but then again I have never submerged in water.

yep. you said the esc was waterproof but isnt the motor too?

yeah don't dive with it,get an outerwears shroud for extra protection. Brushless motors doesn't need to be waterproofed just take care of the bearings. I mean playing through puddles is fine just don't submerge the whole truck.

that is the combo you want Motor & ESC
servo, depend what you want to spend........
few good build threads going right now see what you think will fit your needs.

But RC Fan is correct you need a servo or servos with a min or more than 250 inoz of torque. I would get a single servo. Most are not water resistant, but with a little silicone & grease & you can make it a bit water resistant...

stock servo is 125 inoz of torque.....

the motor is a 2200kv, motors are rated in KV, servos are rated in oz of torque.

The 2200 is the stock erbe motor and it has plenty of power

at one time I think it was stated with 2/3s the 2200kv motor could put out 5 hp....
that is prob about what you push mower in putting out..lol

The esc is already waterproof (mm2), it doesn't show for the motor, but helpful in general, thx!

You don't! you perform after run maintenance on it, basically take it completely apart, dry everything out, lube the bearings, and put it back together. Some motors are sealed better than others so be sure to do some research before plunking down cash. Personally I don't like all the time it takes to clean and lube everything just to run in the wet just too much hassle and I don't like being wet or dirty, lol!

Unless your going underwater with the 2200 I wouldn't worry to much running and it getting splashed is not going to be an issue at all. Just my opinion but that what I believe to be true

Just go with the mm2 with the stock 2200kv motor it won't treat you wrong and castle support is awesome

What traxxas offers on the erevo is a pretty solid package, so you really can't go wrong with it.

No the stock ESC with a E-Revo Brushless is NOT water proof. It is the first generation Mamba Monster. Get the Mamba Monster 2 which is waterproof.

You don't need to be worried with motors and water its only the ESC that needs to be waterproof.
