New member w. new Slash 4x4

Hi I'm Brutuz from the Netherlands.

Visited an airgun-buddy a month ago, he had sold an aripistol and bought a Slash 4x4 for the money.

I was so impressed I sold a few airrifles from my collection and got one too.

Running it on standard Traxxas NiMH's as I'm still a noob and have to learn a lot (wax on, wax off)

Only did three runs so far, first run on asphalt, last weekend a second run in a sandy area and third on a snow covered village green:

Have set-up a new channel for my new hobby http://www.youtube.com/user/BrutuzRC, uploaded a few video's, linked back to this forum and a Dutch Traxxas forum and listed a few other channels I found interesting and made a few playlists which are handy for a noob like me.

Untill last weekend my slash was standard, fitted a Traxxas sway bar kit today, an overtray and new wheels:

Hope to learn a lot from you guys

Your tires look like the Duratrax Bandito tires that I did a review on! They are an excellent choice for a street tire! I have ran mine like ten hours a week since August and they still have some life in them. You are now a part pf an excellent group of people! Remember, if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. We are here to help

    Thanks for the warm welcome

Yep that's a jconcepts overtray Sandford98, leaving it unpainted for now

Got a set of LouiseRC Rocket and a set of LouiseRC Pioneer wheels El Sob, next run will be street

Cut a jconcepts Chevy Silverado 1500 High Flow body last night, am prepping it for two-tone painting (black and white) but takes some time as I'm recovering from a sprained back and can't do much at a time:

Should be a reamer in the mail today, a few more holes will be made, should have waited taking the high flow cut-outs out, it's been done nice but not perfect on the croners, would have been done better if I had made holes in the corners first.

Looking forward to masking and painting

Black and white color scheme, outside film still on body

    Looks good...

    Not really...

Failed on the masking part, black spray where there was supposed to be white only...

Nevertheless was fun to do for the first time and still on a learning curve ;-)

Welcome to the addiction!! The JC Chevy Silverado 1500 is one of my favorite SCT bodies. Did you paint white first & then black ? I haven't painted a body in awhile but I think your supposed to user dark and then light paint

Considering I have never painted a body, I believe it came out ok. Not perfect but your next body will most likely be perfection! Good job!

    Thanks El Sob

Remembered I still have an old unused backpack, the Slash fits!

Inserted two pieces of foam in the bottom compartment, the remote and other stuff fit perfectly:

Will receive a reamer and a few other goodies next week, sold a Chinese break barrel B2-4 this afternoon.

    Meshed it up today:

.... and painted the overtray black as I had a bit of black left so none of the electronics show through the body's windows:

I think that looks great! With a bit of black accents it makes it look a bit "agressive", like it's been in an RC battle and got a few scratches. I like it. It's not always about "clean lines" especially for bashers. It's about the creativity that is needed and involed to make it truly one of a kind. 10/10, I like how agressive and how serious of a basher it makes you look. I'm just about to paint my jconcepts overtray next weekend too! I can't wait but school keeps impeding.

Boy did we have fun today :-)

Pitty the off road track was occupied, we had to go to a parking lot instead and fitted road wheels there...
