Hitec X4 AC Plus. That's what I run, and I love it...

NiMh's can only be charged at 1C safely... so "fastest" time is going to be the same with any charger capable of 7 amps or greater.

So balance charging a 5000mAh 2S at 5.0a is ideal? Or lowering the amps better to get better charge cycles?

Yes, 5 amps is ideal for a 5,000mAh battery.
How you treat your packs... 3.8v/cell for storage, not pulling more amps out of them than they are capable of, not leaving at full capacity, not over charging, not over discharging, and keeping them cool has more effect in extending charge cycles than charging at less than 1C.

Thanks man. I'm glad you confirmed I'm charging them right. I really love this charger.

Look at her doing her job and doing it well. No more stock charger that came with my truck. Taking all week to charge six batteries.
