It's all part of the hobby. If you don't like fixing things, then you may as well drive virtual RC cars in some iPhone app

CVDs are not some magic pixie dust that fix problems. They have their pros and cons, though in my opinion, the pros outnumber the cons. And provided you install and align everything correctly and apply liberal amounts of red loctite, things should hold fine.

I've just come home from a driving session with my Stampede friend, and I've had no problems at all throughout my whole pack (2x760mah 2S). Stampede friend's grub screw came loose again, so I'm inclined to think that it's either a design flaw with Stampede MIP CVDs, or he's using crap loctite.

It's not that I don't mind fixing things its just that a driveshaft should be something I shouldn't really have to worry about.

it happened to me once, but after the red loctite, and letting it dry for 24hr before use, didn't have any more issues, also it is important to set the screw on the flat surface of the pin. I think I've seen people putting heat shrink over.

If its not one thing its another, I'm starting to think this really isn't worth it. The slipper is show or something, the gears are meshed they work fine but all it does is sit there and slip the whole time....

Is the slipper tight?, did you check the center driveshaft?

It has to be the slipper. I ran it and the gears turn but the slipper wasn't. The slipper should be tight but when I try to tighten it it just turns the slipper....

So I saw the bearing on the spur is destroyed... Could that be the reason its slipping so much? It still turns but Im guessing thats it...

EDIT: Problem fixed, stole a bearing from my grave digger. lol

I use the upgraded metal bearings for this as I blew the stock ones up quite often.

Well ran it today and guess what? Another failure. This time it was the hex in the wheel stripped. Im seriously about to post my truck. I barely even had a chance to run it in the month i've had it. Problem after problem after problem. This one is not a chap fix....

I am surprised my 23mm hex's from my MGT fit so I threw those and my MGT wheels and tires on and no problem so far except the wheels are a little soft and skinny that it tips about but finally got some air!

Wow, you really have some bad luck :|.
I'm at my 15th run or so and except for a broken front bulkhead, and a bent pushrod its still going strong.. I hope you will get it fixed!

I went back to my revo body and wing to prevent flip overs. The summit body after 2 wheelie flips resulted in the same road rash and hole.

If you lower the wheelie bar, it should flip less. Also shoe goo, and drywall tape works good reinforcing the body.

I'm starting to wonder what kind of torture you are putting your car through

Except for a front bulkhead, 1 pushrod and the stock tires, i'm still on stock parts after 15 runs or so, everything still seems fine.

Just lost power and then it started smoking. Thought it was the ESC but it was the battery, the other one is fine. I haven't tested the ESC since it just happened but it should be fine. The battery melted right off the cable.

Wow..that's bad news, is it a mmm2 you can get it fixed for 85 unless still is under warranty. I sent one to castle, and two days later the replacement was on the mail, castle is great.

New hobby? I am sorry but the amount of bad luck you have, I'd be done.

Was this a new car or used or did you build from scratch? Was the esc wet?

Yes its used I just started after christmad ans have 4 rc's this is the only one where I've actually have parts break without running the thing. Im pretty much convinced that I'm cursed or something. Theres no way I have the money to fix it now for everything that is broken $300 plus $100 for new lipos.

Well since I'm broke and to fix my revo it would cost like $300 I decided to try to trade my slash for a e-revo and just use that chassis and move my upgrades and have my current revo as a roller until I can fix it or possible sell it. I'm not too into SCT's anyways. They don't give the excitement a revo does.

Yeah. I agree the 1/10 revo platform is great. I am looking to get a summit and then sell off my hopped up p4de.
I like the chassis layout and working on them is fun.
