Just got done charging my NiMh battery and it was warm but not hot to the touch. Is this normal?

Yep. It's normal, it means the battery is done charging. As long as it was only warm, not hot, your fine. If it's almost too hot to hold, then your charging it too fast, or too long. Hope this helps!

Go with 2 2s lipos. I was a Nimh loyal user and finally went Lipo and won't look back

I was charging one of my 3000 mah batteries which is new and it got very warm almost to the hot point. I have a ez peak
charger and set it on the charge rate recommend 3 amps. Do you guys think this should be ok?

It's probably fine. However, if the pack starts getting too hot, you might have a bad cell in there. What's the pack voltage when you're done charging?

I'm not sure I forgot to look. I ran those packs yesterday for about a half hour or more with no problems.

save up for the charger first. Maybe go halfs with your brother on a multi chemistry charger then you can both use it.

Look into thunder chargers. You can get a very nice charger for around $50 shipped. I relize you can't swing it right now but down the road it is the way to go. Once you have the charger then the next time you have some extra cash you can pick up some lipos.

Just incase you are confused the charger I am talking about can be used to charger you nimh also while you are waiting to buy lipos.

I run their 2S 25C 5700s in everything I own (E-Maxx Brushless, 1/10 Rally, Slash 4x4). Very pleased with their performance.

I'm guna time next time I run but I don't think I'm even close to 30 mins

My run time is about 15 minutes. But that in snow running mostly "wide open" so is that normal? If I were to get lipos would that increase my run time?

Yes, that's about normal in the snow running wide open. LiPos will greatly increase your speed and run time, and the power is consistent from start to finish. With NiMh, the power curves sharply downward as the run continues.

Yesterday I had a solid 30 minute run in the snow with my 5700s...mind you, I run the brushless E-Maxx, which is more efficient than the brushed.

Just a little more run time; the higher the mah, the longer your run time.

difference would be longer runtimes about a 10-15% increase so about 5-10mins more it also helps provide a little more amps as well

Don't let that big "5700" on the battery confuse you; mah has nothing to do with power or motor life...voltage does.

The 5700 is just going to give you a bit more run time over the 5000, that's it.

you will be fine with either 5000 or 5700 mah lipos. i would go for the 5700 though more runtime and you will have a little more amps for when under load for when you go brushless later on if that is the case, brushed dont take much amps but 5700 is what i would get.

I got 5000mah and smoke 4 titans already both on second run. From my experience don't run lipos with the titans. It rips the brushes off. The performance was sweet but the motors can't handle it. I'm saving for the mamba monster system now.

Sorry about your motors, but the mah value has nothing to do with them burning out...

I should be good because all I do is jump it and coast around in between jumps. This should protect the motors right

The titans can last days or years even on the same battery pack.
If the motor is not broke in fully or wrongly geared the temps go high and that's the motor gone.
To go through 4 motors on second run,I assume 2runs each set. It's a problem that, may not be in the motor, or the battery. It's an issue elsewhere.
If one motor is bad and only one is replaced replaced, that is bad for Maxx.
If the motors aren't broke in, that is bad also.
If the motors are geared wrongly that is bad.

The lipos took 2 at the same time. I did the break in correct in water. I even checked the brushes with a tiny mirror. I have stock gearing. I checked for binding. Everything is fine they just couldn't handle the juice from the lipos. Onyx 2s 5000mah 25c. I was heavy on the throttle on second run. But it's not acceptable. the titan 550 just don't handle lipos well. This is why I'm going brushless. I don't want to baby my truck. That's all.

I would check to make sure that esc is doing good with water protection some issues are going on with it lately i have been reading on forums.
I have a hobbywing wp sc8 esc 4s max but works perfect and i have got it wet even with the fan on and its been fine, just dry it out after remove the fan and air compress the water out of it is all i have to do.
