    Question Tapin' Tires

Okay guys, I've watched the tire taping vids on YouTube but have some quick questions before I do it. I'm rolling big Trencher 40s on Axial beadlocks.

    1. How many times should I wrap 'em?

    2. Do I try to tape the sidewalls as well, or just stick to the center?

    3. Any last-minute tips?

    Thanks in advance...

I went once around with gorrila tape and overlap about an inch. some people go twice around but i think once is good. Dont try to tape the sides. Then I would balance them.

Now when you say overlap about an inch what do you mean? tape the center then tape again on each side of that put going over 1" each side?

I clean the insides with rubbing alcohol and let them dry before I tape them.

Stay in the center, go around once. If you over lap, make it minimal.

I found it easy enough to lay a long strip out on a flat surface and roll the tire on to the tape.

Ditto what MnM said. Same technique I used and the tires are all good.

Okay, thanks guys! Still haven't done it but will definitely use the rubbing alcohol too.

Mike: by "overlap," I think he meant to overlap the starting point by one inch, not the sides.

Well, taping them was pretty simple...why do I worry so much about silly things?

Now...anyone have tips for mounting Trencher 40s on Axial beadlocks? I've heard it can be tricky keeping the rim on the bead.
