Blew the tires off my rally.

Was out doing some speed runs yesterday. Mmp 2650 and 4s battery. I was able to dial it in so it would stick to the ground but tires were still breaking louse a bit at about 3/4 throttle. So I lowered the front more and it was doing well. Second run the tires blew right off. Anyone have any recommendation for 17MM road tires? Also is the traxxas GPS out yet? I would like to see where my speed is getting. I can't do the spur gear telemetry becouse I hsve a Robinson racing in it.

Looks like a nice setup! Duratrax Bandito are a whole lot better tire than your Dynamite Robber s. Did you catch this on video by any chance?

No wish I did. It was pretty cool. Yeh it's a good setup. Putting the 17mm adaptors on are the best thing that I did. Here is a pic. Thanks for advice on tires. I was amazed that the bug body did so well at those speeds. I need to go up in pinion gear. I am running a 23 now. Problem is I don't have enough room with the kings head mount. Thinking of dreameling it out. Thanks for the help.

where did you get those set of wheels/tires from? i buy my sets from suprasales (buggy wheels with slick tires) and they seems to hold up with me even with my 6s.

Those look like a set of the ebay 9spoke black wheels (17mm)

I am not sure, but the rusty guys seem to get good results with the GRP tires. they are pricey, but they have belted options also.

QYKSLVR, have you tried the front XO-1 wheels/tires? its a bit larger diameter than the buggy/slick tires though.

that explain the Rally MMP/????. dont know what motor to run with it? i run a 2800kv on 4s, its wicked fast.!!

If you going to be pushing 70+ mph you really should look at a set of GRP's. they're not cheap but in all my time here I've only ever seen one fail. Worth the money for speed runs and cost a whole lot less than fixing your wadded up car after the tires blow off and it goes flipping into the ditch.

I have the same tires. They are great for a 2wd vehicle doing a speed run or street fun. But I would never think of running them on my Rally. yikes

They would prolly be alot better if they were taped, but they have held up fine with the stock motor on 3s. No signs of shredding.

Is there a tire and wheel thread for the rally? It would be nice if there was/is. Just a place where people list the wheel se they have, maybe a link, even a picture. Then newbies could just look what has been successful for others.
