Running stock gears on my Dewalt and it's doing great. Of course my Summit probably weights twice as much as everyone else's due to all the modifications.
Endeavoring to persevere !
im getting trenchers for my summit and i know they have a smaller circumference so i was thinking about 18 pinion and what spur?

No problems with excessive heat, I run Canyons or original Trenchers with an 18 tooth pinion and 68 spur.

after reading other threads i've bought an 18t to run on stock spur
I'm running 18/68 with my 12v dewalt, that is more hot than 14.4v. Under de dusty cover it reachs 200 degrees in a basshing session under the sun with 100 degrees ambiente temp.... it's the limit of temp I think. ESC is 180 degrees.
With the 14.4v dewalt motor you will be ok on 18/68 gearing.
Summit, dewalt 12v, 18/68 gear, T-bone skids
okay thanks, thats what ill do![]()
