    lipo incorrect voltage read

I have two traxxas 3s lipos. When I go to charge the older one the charger reads incorrect voltage. This is on the balance charge setting. This does not happen with the other battery though. Is this battery going bad? That's what I would assume. Also if I put the charger on the non-balanced setting then give it a little juice then stop it and put it back on a balanced charge it will charge it up. I did this twice but would like to get some info before doing anything else with it. If anything ill just charge it under my bed as I sleep just to be safe. Just kidding. Thanks in advance for any info.

What is the voltage of the pack?
What is the voltage of the cells?
What is the charger claiming voltage is?
What are you using to confirm voltage measurements are off?
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

It could be it is too low of voltage for the lipo charger to kick in! Do you have a way to check the voltage of each cell?

+1 all this. Need more info. Do you have a cell checker and/or multimeter?

The battery is the Traxxas 3s 11.1v 4000mah lipo.

I don't have a way to check the voltage of the cells. Where would be the best/easiest place to find a cell checker or multimeter?

The charger is what is saying that the voltage is off. it just reads "incorrect voltage" but does not say what voltage the pack is being measured at.

Once i have the necessary tools to measure the pack's voltage what are some of the things I should be looking for?

    Thanks again

cell checker/ cell monitor, on ebay, pretty simple plug and read. probably the least expensive option and very handy to have.
Guide books aren't part of the packaging.

Checkers are much easier to use too...

    From over the pond:

    From the USA:

I have a handful of these as it seems I like to wash them with my clothes.

They will display pack voltage and the voltage of each cell one at a time.
These will even double as a LiPo alarm if adjusted and left attached while you run your RC.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.
