    motor question

just was out running my stampede and the motor just gave up the ghost. Now looking for a new motor. I still want to keep the vxl esc. My question is what aftermarket motor will match up with the vxl esc?. I usually run 3s and some 2s.

You could use the Castle 3800kv SCT (1410) - should bolt right in and will give you quite a bit more torque as it is a 4 pole motor.

The VXL ESC will not work fine with a 4 pole motor.

WOW - The google link - That was nice and rude!

Onebadtmaxx - you can go with the above mentioned Castle motor in a combo with the ESC and fan for about $120. Will give you more punch.

Jang did a review of it in a Slash. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bv0HYcODbok

You best bet is to sell the VXL esc's and upgrade. The 4x4 pede is really too big for long term use of 2 pole motors. Going with a 4 pole solves that problem.

OR, keep the vxl ESC and get a new Velinion with the fan shown on the megafan/heatsink thread. That dropped my motor temps down to 115 on 3S and 13/54. Previously it was 140- 170 using smaller dual fans, and hot enough to toast rotors without fans.
