Kershaw Single DeWalt 820 Conversion Kit

I am replacing the stock motors with a single Dewalt 820.

Should both sets of red and black wires coming from the EVX-2 be wired to the motor or do I just connect 1 red and 1 black wire?

I have seen a few u-tube videos where it looks like people have soldered 2 black and 2 red wires to the single motor.

The kit from Kershaw only has 1 red and 1 black connector.

I just used the wires that come with the motor. So 1 black 1 red

Thanks. I was just not sure if it made a difference on the amount of power that was going to the motor from the evx-2 by using 2 or 4 wires.

I reached out to Dan at Kershaw. He got back to me very quickly. He states there is plenty of power going through to the 820 motor by just using 1 red and 1 black wire.

This motor modification is very impressive. Lots of power and torque. The kit from Kershaw is solid and easy to install.

So it no comes with those nasty blade and bullet connectors? "Plenty of power" is indeed a wonderfully quantitative technical phrase, but was resistance and/or efficiency was discussed? Since the brushes are easily removed and soldered to, even with one 10ga or two 12ga wires, and quality bullet connectors are readily available, I don't see the benefit of skimping on these pieces.

I went with one 10awg to the brush.

heat shrink to help protect it, gives it a bit extra mechanical strength.

How i got mine is two reds from esc into one connector and two blacks into one connector, then just the single 10awg to the motor.
The original wires thats used when the motor is in the drill are very small gauge, I think i kept them in my tool box.
