Very very bent shock... Show me your most spectacular destroyed part.

I did this to one of my Ultra Shocks today, thankfully I wasn't running a Big Bore in that corner when a Team-C TM2 span out infront of me on the main straight... Still don't know how he lost control on the straight!

But anyway here is the result:

Shockingly the other buggy didn't have a scratch! Nothing... This is what I'd class as my very first spectacular break at a race.

BTW, the orange residue on the shock is paint from the Losi orange spring

    Well I don't have pictures
I must say my favourite breakage was a RPM front a-arm on my Slash 4x4

something else had to have broke also for that shaft to bend that much. i know how you can prevent bent shafts like that cause ive bent a few stock ultra shafts myself on my bandit and my old 2wd slash. front tie bar(aluminum one is better but stock is good too) and/or an strc bulkhead, anza or strc hinge pins, rpm front arms, and traxxas titanium shafts. at least the tin shafts and tie bar. the tin shafts are much stronger and have a little less friction when moving in the shock.

Here is when I bent the shaft on my stock 4x4 (running 2s lipo), it is REALLY bent just like yours. Only difference is that mine ran into a pole I couldn't see:

    http://s1297.beta.photobucket.com/us...ccd1d.jpg.html

That's one of the only things that have broken so far on my truck, but I just bent it back easily so it works like new.

I've inspected it fully, and shockingly no. Nothing else broke other than the spring cup.

I have big bores all round but had replaced them at the front for that race with the old Ultras. Fate The BB TIN shafts might be much stronger but I don't know if they would have survived the 30-35 MPH impact into the alloy chassied race buggy...

Haha! I've thought about it. But right now I'm the guy with the Traxxas.

I'd go to being the guy with the Traxxas with the show plow attachment... might as well put neons under it

I'm holding off on 2S let alone a 3S for this very reason. I did half that damage on my Bandit yesterday on 7 cell NiMH. I'll post a pic when I get home tonight.

The first photo is my very first time out with the stock XL-5 setup

Actually my 2yr old daughter did that, she wanted to use the throttle control and I didn't limit it with my finger behind the trigger. Broke the camber link and bulkhead.

Second image is of a crash Monday, clipped a concrete column with the rear wheel, I thought I was going to miss it. Broke the rear A arm and camber link.

    Yeah
    I like the traxxas green
But strc has more parts but their green is uglier

Most of my carnage came from running my e revo on 6s. How are you guys killing your rustys like the ones posted in this thread? My rustler has never seen a 2s let alone a nimh. And I've only ever broke an a arm and rounded the teeth off an idler gear. Now with my team ae slipper set up my tranny gears are safe and if I can land my jumps somewhat flat ill never break another a arm.

Don't know if "the boom" is a link but I can't click on it, tapatalk or not. I just run 3s in my rustler from day one and never destroyed it like I've seen on this thread.

Man those skid plates look cool!!! As do your suspension arms! The only thing I'd do is get rid of the stock suspension pins you have, go Anza! They rock.

I though I'd post this since I've never seen a more bent shock than mine. Long story short, I'm running 30wt motor oil in my shocks, and it really thickens up in the cold. I went of a jump, in 15 degree weather. Tada! Bent shock!
Any one else got a more bent shock than this?

Guess this is what you get when you put 2.2" wheels and tires on a Merv and start doing backflips off of your backyard jumps. Snapped the chassis and rear bulkhead clean in half. Shocks and linkages are all that kept the two halves of the truck together Man i love this hobby!!!
