Did traxxas discontinue the slayer with tqi?

so i have a jato 3.3 and plan on getting a slayer pro (assuming i can talk the fiance into it) i do most of my ordering at tower hobbies online they had the slayer with the tqi for about 430 but discontinued it and offer the slayer pro with tq for 460 does anyone have a clue why? obviously this isnt cool more money for less radio? either way im getting one but any insight on my dilema would be great.

Traxxas is changing radios once again... once this change over is complete they will have a very basic TQ that looks like the new TQi, a base-less TQi, and a TQi with a base. The base and baseless models will have multiple channel counts... I am not sure if the TQ will or will not... but I think they will.

Whenever there is a new part number roll out Tower seems to over estimate the cost... then it comes down after a while.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

LINK and TQ LINK are the same radio... there are high output and standard output versions though.
None of the LINK radios can do telemetry.

As far as I know, the new TQ without an antenna does not accept telemetry.

Ahh ok jimmy I just got offa the phone with traxxas apparently in a nut shell the new tq is the same as the old tqi the reason they did this was because tqi had too many buttons people kept messing with eventually causing them heartache so u can send new tq in to upgrade for 100 to get docking base etc

You have always been able to send in any Traxxas radio + $$ to get an upgraded version. Most of the time it ends up being cheaper to keep your current radio and eBay the upgraded one.

....The TQ radio does not have any of the menu options that the other radios have. no end points, no subtrim. Its just a basic 2 channel that steers and throttles

Is it just me that thinks Traxxas needs to come up with new names for their new radios?
TQ is in ALL of their radios...

I would name them things like....

The frustrator, the sloppy steer, the raw finger, the glitcher.....things like that. No I'm not complaining - Im just trying to have a little fun

But yes, It would be nice to change it a little more than it is
