    evx issues

    my evx flashes green,red. tryed to program it but it wont stop flashing, also wont shut off nless i unplug batterys

    I am assuming you are using stock NiMh batteries?
    I am also assuming you have the newer EVX2 with LVD.
    If so...

    Plug in one battery into the BEC side.
    >The BEC side is usually the one with the red tag. It is the side that powers up the electronics momentarily.
    Press to turn on the ESC.
    Let go and press again, holding the button down until the ESC exits LiPo mode.

    Also, Traxxas recommends to unplug the ESC instead of using the button to power down.

    thanks, it is new its my third summit. i should say it is the only one i have right now. someone else liked them better than me(stolen) i will try that thanks

    I did as u said with the battery hooked up(bec) it huts down. I turn the esc on again and its back to its old tricks,lol red,green repeatedly. Only way to shut it down is unplug.

    sure enough. the red lite is beaming. i am new the the new lv,hv. so if its in the red im go to go with brushed batterys. nimh

    Brushed can handle either LiPo or NiMh... the light came on to indicate over voltage protection had been triggered. Running the ESC in LiPo mode and attaching NiMh batteries will trigger over voltage.

    Want to put 8.4v 5000mah in my summit. I amrunning the kershaw motors. 700-ho ,2 of them will it make my esc run hot?

    It is not just batteries that can push an ESC to its limits... gearing, tires, ect play a large part as well.
    Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

    You might be ok... but be prepared to gear down even more.
