Questions about gearing

Quick question about my Rustler. I have a Gens Ace LiPo rated at 3s, 40c, 5000mAh. My current gearing is 18/83. Wondering how hot this would run with a Velineon 3s and 3500 motor with a cooling fan, as I'm about to get this set-up. Oh yeah, and I run it just about everywhere in all conditions, street, grass, dirt, snow, sand, anywhere. Worried about this being too hot for say, sand or grass in the summer

grass will get it hot pretty quick. dirt and street not so much. try a few teeth smaller on your pinion. get a temp gun to check temps. you dont really want the motor hotter than 160 i think and the esc should stay under 110
