    Battery upgrade advise

I was wondering if anyone upgraded their AA batteries to the battery hump pack on the t-maxx 3.3? If anyone can tell me the pros of doing this and what brand or type they use would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I did, and couldn't be happier. I bought 2 from my LHS whatever they had in stock, a 1500mah and a 1600mah 5 cell.

Pros: Huge savings from crashes and AA batteries. No guessing how much charge you have left, very simple after each run plug the truck in! Carry one spare battery just incase your having a long day.

Others have noted servos operate better on the humpbacks due to the voltage they are able to provide.

Cool thanks I guess they all work the same so a certain make doesn't matter?

Make does not matter so much. Bigger mah = longer lasting charge. I try to find 1600 mah.

Better yet, scrap the old NIMH idea and get a proper LIFE if you have the appropriate charger.

    The evolution of batteries
NICD (don't see much of these anymore other than SUPER cheap glow starters)
    NIMH (typical "hump pack")
LIPO (commonly used in electric cars now)
    LIFE (the newest standard)

There are a number of manufactures out there that offer LIFE receiver batteries now. NIMH isn't bad per say, but there is indeed quite a bit better out...

^+1, LIFE is what all the cool kids are into. LOL. My NIMH works great but I used a friends LIFE and it lasted almost twice as long
