    Chopstx' MMM 3906 Emaxx

Hey all, I recently want through the process of taking my 3906 emaxx and converting it to run the MMM and combo from Castle. I was hoping for more speed and wanted more torque as well. After a lot of research and I finally bit the bullet and started building. Later I'll give you guys a list of links I found really helpful, because I kinda had a hard time finding the info that I needed. So here you go

Velcro circles with self adhesive backing works very well to hold the ESC onboard.

Robinson Racing Slipper and my DIY switch mount because it wouldn't fit in the old switch spot.

I was fortunate enough to already have 3.3 Spec axles, arms, carriers, and diffs on the truck when I got it used. Saved me a lot of time and money

So yeah that's my truck. Right now I am running 23/72 gearing which according to the speed calculator which is giving me roughly 40 mph tops.

I'm using 2 Duratrax Onyx 5000mah 2s 25c lipos in series. And a Electrifly Triton EQ charger.

    The things I did:
    MMM combo 2200kv
    3.3 spec driveline
    Modified Tmaxx center driveshafts
    Unknown brand steering servo protector
    Steel idlers in the tranny
Dremeled the motor mount to fit the 23t pinion
    Greased the tranny
    Velcro battery straps

Just for kicks, some pics of my toolbox:

nice e-maxx. i do like the 3906 e-maxxes over the newer e-maxxes. its the shorter wheelbase that i like. plus proline has the only awesome bronco body for the 3906 i always half to have. i do own a 3906 that is in reconstruction mode. cant wait to get it completed. ill probly make a castle powered blacktop racer out of it. i got a 3903 brushless i bash everywhere else. thanks for posting
I'm not krazy. My mother had me tested.

ChopsTX- sick looking truck dude. Can u post me a link to that MMM motor/ESC combo. That's what I'm waiting to run in my 3903 emaxx. So with that combo u can run 2 lipos ? Can post a pic on the lipos plugged into the ESC. Is it a 2 in 1 adapter ??

    School me on this....

    Ran in SERIES means 2-2s 7.4v 5000mah packs would equal 14.8v 5000mah ??
    Ran in PARALLEL means 2- 2s 7.4v 5000mah would equal 7.4v 10000mah ??

If that is the adapter for the 1/16th models, the gauge wire is too small and will eventually lead to failure of your esc. It's hard to tell from the photos but if that is the series connector made by traxxas then it's not going to work. The MMM can pull some amps and needs at least 12awg wire or better.

right here it is: choose 12g wires though ok, they carry both parallel and series traxxas connectors.

25c is probably on the weak side for batteries but might do ok depending on how true the C rating is
I did velcro on my esc on my merv and it came loose on a crash. Two side tape will hold better

25c is on the weak side, but I don't need crazy acceleration or anything cause I'm not a big fan of wheelieing every time

its not really about acceleration is about having your lipos last a long time more less a full life instead of kicking the bucket at only half its life span should be. something like 30, 40, 50, 55,65,70C's would work and not have such a heavy load on the lipos. SPC has some nice lipos that will meet the needs you need at a good price too and rated right at that not too many companies do that besides traxxas of course

Its the load 50 was referring to.
