Just got lipos and now I think there's something wrong with my charger
As the title says, I just got lipo batteries. I had a dynamite passport ultra charger. My batteries are 1 traxxas 3s 5000mah and a traxxas 2s 5000mah. I set my charger to 5 amps and the highest I've seen it charge at Is 2 amps and normally less than 1 amp. Any idea what's wrong?!

I just put my 3s lipo on. It started off and got to 3.36 amps then went down a little less than an amp a second.

what charge state does your lipos read at? like voltage at? 4.20v is max per cell you might be getting close its normal for chargers to slow the charge rate down because its call CC/CV so it puts every drop of charge and MAH into the pack.
-
I'm not sure what you mean but for the 3s on the charger it says 12.6v

its fully charged then or right near it thats why the charger is slowing down the charge rate its normal for it. thats the CC/CV is talked about.
4.20v per cell X 3 (3s)=12.60v total
4.20v per cell X2 (2s)=8.40v total

If you just bought new batteries they should be in a storage charge. Around 3.8v per cell not close to fully charged
Did they look brand new?
-
Yeah they were brand new off of eBay. And thanks for the help mike.

if they were new then they should have came in storage mode as 50 said but sometimes companies ship lipos charged too full
no problem on the help anytime.

never seen that and i have a few lipo's! i always check the voltage when i receive them(who wants to solder a traxxas connector on a bad battery)

sometimes the cheaper lipos (cheap price) come a little higher on voltage, friends i know have gotton them like that and some venom, duratrax lipos from places have come a little higher like ranging from 3.90-4.00. I would check your lipos with a voltmeter to make sure voltage is correct.
