One mod where you don't have to buy anything (unless you don't have a cutting tool e.g. dremel) is lowering the body.
    1. Work out where the body is going to touch the f/r bumper mounts and chop a slot in the body to fit over the mounts.
    2. the stock body mount posts are a bit long and if lowered anymore they will hit the rockers. so just cut a bit off the bottom of them and lower to what you want.
Some have done this and i am gonna do it soon.
If the summit can go through; its not deep enough

I lowered mine, definitely came down like 1.25-1.5". I did need to trim a little bit off the front and rear body, but it all covered by the bumpers anyway. Also had to trim the bottom of the body posts by 3 or 4 screw holes. Like the ham sandwich mod too.

I will be lowering the body on both mine and my son's this weekend.

I haven’t done much to ours besides changing the rear springs to double orange and putting 80wt shock oil in (F&R). While I had it apart I added a set of Badhorsie Shock Covers......not really a mod but I like the way it looks and it helps protect the shock shafts from the grit. I also added a couple Dusty Covers.......again not really a mod.

To customize it a bit, I've stripped the chrome from the wheels and have removed the blue anodization from some of the parts and polished them; like the stock hubs. As they begin to wear and wobble, I will replace them with a set of HPP hubs on I have lying around.

    And LiPo’s…….but that’s not a mod that’s a MUST!!!!

I keep thinking anyday now Traxxas will address this topic. I believe they have a fix on the XO-1 hexs. If they would only come up with a replacment hub for us.
