    SRT battery box aluminum replica

    Hey Guys,

I made this for my carbon fiber SRT... The battery box made of 7075 aluminum, 6mm thick... The pockets depth is 4mm and I made a small one pass-through just to see how it looks...

I still need to work on the edges after the parts came out of the CNC machine...

As soon as they are done and anodized in silver or black, I'll update my carbon fiber SRT thread with them...

    Hope you like it...

    Daniel.

    Very nice!!!!

But where are you gonna mount your antenna now?

That's gonna look sick on the CF SRT!

Did you make the rear brace too?

No, I have to decide if I'm going to make it out of two pieces joined by screws, or, from a solid block of aluminum... I don't have the CAD skill to do the second one, so, if I choose that path, I'm going to need some help which will require some extra money...

That is sick!!! I say that you should anodize it in silver cause CF always looks cool with silver. Any weight readings?

This is what I'm talking about!!! I need one! This would eliminate any possible flex. Plus with lipos the added weight is more the. Welcome. For the top brace do a one piece in aluminium. If you can make more and get it in gun metal or brushes ill love to buy a box!!

I guess I'll do that, but the motor mount and motor guard are black...

Right, but the point of making it with CF was to reduce the weight, but I needed the battery box for my second LS-2...

    I'll try...

I'm not saying no, but we can work something out... I don't have any spare aluminum sheets now and the anodize shop is a little far, but with a little time, I can make a couple of sets...

I plan on running shorty lipos so the weight be nice and low and having no flex is important. I love very responsive agressive trucks.

On the side note. I just was theorycrafting and I think if you use a shorty lipo you can run a small Esc and receiver directly behind the battery in the battery box. Should centerize the weight balance and keep the lcg in the middle and low.
