servo stuttering

Ok, so I got the new TQI radio system for my birthday and installed it into my jato 2.5. I fallowed all the instructions and when i started it up it worked fine. Then i tried to turn and press the throttle at the same time and both servos stuttered and altogether stopped working. The only modifications i made are a new servo and a few aluminum parts. Please help

Throttle and steering I assume?

Did you plug both into channel 1?
There are two channel 1 slots...

no I plugged my steering into channel 1 and throttle into channel 2 (yes I have a space in between) I was thinking though could it be because it was meant for another model. I bought it off my friend who took it out of his new slash so could the profile still be on it and I have to delete it or what?

Possible... did it come with a little sheet of paper in the base?

Ok i just tried starting it up and running it but now instead of stuttering it runs both servos back and forth constantly until i release the throttle and the steering. I didn't even change anything.

Something is goofy here...

The little paper has reset instructions...

To reset for Jato:
RC off
Tx off
Hold menu and set; continue to hold
Tx on
Release menu and set; led blinks red
Press menu twice; red led blinks 3 times
Press set; led shines solid green
Reset complete


If that does not clear it up, it might be time to call Traxxas.

Thanks for your help the problem ended up being a combination of things.
1. I had the profile on the wrong car
2.The wire leading from the batteries to the receiver had short circuited (from rocks putting holes in the wires)
3. My batteries had gone dead
So problem fixed no more stuttering servos and again thank you for your help it really made things easier.
