T-Maxx 2.5r Build

I've had my T-maxx for quite some time, and I've decided to do a ground up restoration. I have it completely disassembled, and I ordered a boat load of parts.

I bought the Traxxas 5451R Steel CVDs and was putting them in along with a wide variety of RPM parts and new hardware when....

The CVD's are too long. So I figure I have a Model 4910 2.5r

Here is the question, What do I need to do to make these CVDs fit?

2.5R model would fit.
You most likely have a 4910 model 2.5, or at least the suspension is. You need the wide arms (you most likely already have them) 2.5R/3.3 spec axle carriers and toe links.

I'm (attmepting) to put the front end together right now, and I have the RPM T-Maxx A-Arms 80462, RPM Axle Carriers and stock bulkheads and shock tower. The 5451R CVDs are too long... Are you saying that I have the wrong A-amrs to make the CVDs work?

The arms are correct, the carriers must be wrong.

You need these carriers to work with the cvds, or better yet, use the stock 3.3 carrier 5334R.

Well, there's my problem. I had RPM 80032 Maxx 1.5/2.5 Carriers...

Why do you say use the stock carrier 5334R?

Many people have issues with the rpm carriers popping out the pivot balls.
If you do a search you will find many threads on the subject. There is a fix/mod but you would need to purchase the 5334R carriers to get the steel rings for the fix.
It’s personal preference but I prefer not to have to mod a new part to make it trust worthy.
